Hannah has suffered with many issues. She is a self-harmer and substance abuser. She ends up in a hospital psych ward after her suicidal ideations get the best of her. She is diagnosed with depression. She eventually ends up in a long-term treatment facility where she begins DBT therapy, which really helps her. There is a dark side; several girls there explained their anorexia "tips". When Hannah returns home she begins not eating anything during the week and exercising till she passes out. You continues to find the rest of her struggle. She is in a constant battle until she finds a bombshell, her step-mother believes she had Borderline Personalty Disorder. Hannah is at first appalled, but after some research she found the answer to a question she was entirely sure she was asking.
