The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid

Two strangers - an American and a Pakistani - make the seemingly spontaneous decision to spend an evening dining together at a cafe in Lahore. The Pakistani man tells the foreign stranger of his experience of living in the USA, both before and after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. As the evening progresses, both men become increasingly suspicious of the others intentions and it becomes apparent that their meeting might not have been so unplanned.
