Gossamer by Lois Lowry

Gossamer is about the dream givers. There are people similar to ghosts who pick up fragments off of our clothes or items. They turn these fragments into dreams that they bestow upon us whenever we sleep. The story follows a dream giver named Littlest One. Littlest One follows around her friend as she learns the ins and outs of how to make dreams, but a terrible darkness is found. The hoard is a group of dream givers that went bad. They do nothing but destroy happiness and hope by bestowing nightmares to people. Littlest One is found in a life or death situation against the hoard. What will happen?
