A brilliant writer, who is paid to give up his rights over his pieces, which are published as someone else's, finds himself in Budapest, an eastern European capital, because of a forced landing during a flight from Istanbul, on his way back home to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There, in Budapest, he finds himself enchanted with the Hungarian language, also entranced with the city and its people, but, soon enough, he has to go back home to his wife, his job and his unrecognized success. As the story unwinds, he ends up losing hope over his life in Rio de Janeiro, the life of a successful anonymous writer, and goes back to Budapeste, to learn Hungarian and try to find out his true self - but, as he'll soon find out, that won't be an easy path.
