Colie never really fit in, at first because she was fat, then after she lost the weight, because everyone thought she had turned into a slut due to a vicious rumor. Her mother sends her away to live with her strange aunt in N.C. for the summer and she's afraid that she will never fit in anywhere. But, there, she finds herself befriending two completely opposite girls and one grimy hippie and with their help, she begins to learn who she really is.
