I wonder when people will try making amandments about the other things Leviticus said, like wearing clothing made out of multiple fabrics and shaving be a sin. Oh, and don't forget the proper way to sacrifice an animal. The very long, redundant way to sacrifice an animal...

Can you tell me what verse that is? xD
People always use that passage and I've never found it, I'd be really interested if you could let me know where that was.

from a religious point of view, it is a sin against God.
Gay people are just that PEOPLE! they are like you and me and there is nothing that makes them any less human

The Bible does not say that Gay people are inhuman.
The Bible says anal sex is wrong.

    Personally, I don't think so.
But the Bible only talks about men. Then again, thats all society was at the time. Purely patriarchal.
Since intercourse with a member of the same sex is homosexuality whichever way you want, though, some people take it to mean all types.

unless gay couples are planning on having a christian in their house and around their heathen persons constantly, I dont see what the big deal is.

I am aware that it is a sin for same sex couples to be together, let alone get married.

But when did the christian majority get to control what people do?

What if some other religion, like buddhism [even though it goes against EVERYTHING buddhism stands for] tried to dictate people's lives?

Okay.. you can rip me to shreds now if it makes you feel better[:

And if I should say that religion is a lifestyle; how does that fit with your statement?
Does that mean we have to *gasp* respect religions too?

I mean, that would be shocking. Especially in this current climate where this Morrissey-stylee anti-religion business is king. Why does every young person nowadays think religion is totalee the worst thing, like, evurr?.

    King James Version:

Romans 1:26-27: "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

    *Sigh*

Now although the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong (King James Version: If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them) I dont agree. I am Christian and most of my guy friends are gay. I think that they should have rights as everyone else. I don't see anything wrong with homosexuality considering you're born with it and you can't help it...

I got out my family's copy and that is in there, word for word. Also, I got out my dumbed-down version of the Bible I got at camp, and here's what it said:

"So God let them go. They were filled with shameful longings. Their women committed sexual acts that were not natural. In the same way, the men turned away from their natural love for women. They burned with sexual longin for each other. Men did shameful things with other men. They suffered in their bodies for all the twisted things they did."

Speaking strictly biologically, in the "we live to make babies and then we die, but our species will live on," way, yes, homosexuality is wrong. I do not believe that in any way, shape, or form, but I can see what some people could think.

After that particular section from the Bible, it goes on to say, in a nutshell, that homosexuals are evil in all ways.

"They are full of every kind of sin." They're greedy, they kill people, they are hateful. "They say means things about other people."

That is a huge generalization, which I, personally, cannot stand. That section (Romans 1: 29-31) is completely irrational to me. Whoever wrote the Bible talks about how one must be kind to other people, and, even though I've never read the whole thing, I'm sure somewhee in there it has "do unto others what you wish they would do unto you." Those types of things are the few things I retain from when I still went to church.

    Finally, Romans 1: 32:

"They know God's commands are right. They know that those who do evil things should die. But they continue to do those very things. They also approve of others who do them."

Once I find it, I will look through my family's copy of the Quran (I'm sorry if that's not spelled right), and I'm going to spend some time looking for the verse from the Bible that says we can't wear garments made from two different fabrics.

Sorry for the length of this post, but I wanted to give it straight from the book.
