Cold fusion or some other energy source that doesn't harm the environment and can be used instead of coal, oil gas, ect and better advances with environmentally friendly technology
Time travel would be pretty cool too

Some sort of device that can record thoughts or dreams, so when I fall asleep and think of a really good plot twist / line, I don't have to go write it down.

What if you had a really terrible "dream" about someone you despise?
Wouldn't want that on record, would you? Wink

Better surgical technique, as well as improvements in the field of transplants (for the most part organs to be transported last a couple hours because they are held and transported in something similar to a picnic cooler)

Better imaging for internal parts of the body (to find things that are hard to find, such as early cancer)

Better diabetes (type 1 and 2) management/cure (insulin pumps are just the beginning)

I guess not, but I tend to have crazy adventure dreams which I would love to see again. Still, I think it would be pretty cool if it ever happens Very Happy

Cures for genetic disorders- especially Muscular Dystrophy. It is so hard watching it slowly take my cousin away.

Also- strides in cancer (the ultimate dream would be a cure!)

    And I wouldn't mind a tardis... (Please?)

YES YES A MILLION TIMES YES- better transplant techniques! It would be so nice to get recipients to a point where they don't need 65 pills a day to prevent going into rejection (it would also be nice to get the five year survival rate above 50%)

Just realising how dumb and mundane all this will seem 500 years from now.

I'd like to see, as stated above, many more advances in the medical field. Perhaps not a cure for cancer, not in the near future, but perhaps ways to one hundred-percent prevent stillbirth and children born with mental disability.

If a bit far-fetched, it would be sort of cool to "tap" into one's brainwaves and use them to control a prosthesis as a real appendage rather than a replacement.

This would never happen, but a way to communicate with animals. That would be great because say your pet gets sick and you don't know what's wrong and not even the vet knows what's wrong, so instead of wasting a grand in vet bills, your pet can tell you what's wrong and you can focus on the pet getting better faster.
Plus I bet it would be amusing to hear what an animal has to say because I'm sure they think the darndest things. c:

you're going to call me crazy for this but. . A pregnant guy. And not a woman who had a sex change, or a hermaphrodite, but and actually fully born male. And actually it might not be that far off, I remember a few years ago there was a piece on TV of where they were creating an artificial womb. Last I heard anything about it, it was being tested on a shark.

An advancement that makes it so that we can stop telomeres from unraveling without it being a cancer cell. With just that, our cells would live longer and be able to reproduce more often, essentially keeping us at a young/healthy level for way longer.

Oh and I'd also like the ability to just manually control my metabolism.

I just noticed this and I would actually like to inform you that we are on our way with that. Currently it's an implant in the brain, but they have developed a working prototype where the implant connects to wires so that the individual can make the prosthetic move like a real limb. So far they've created a prosthetic arm, and have actually hooked up the wires so that the brain interprets the censors as nerves so that there's somewhat of actual sensation in them.

It's still highly experimental due to it requiring brain surgery to do. Also, the prosthesis is very clearly a robot arm, so there is a way to go with it, but we've got to start somewhere! Here's at least one of the articles about the woman that I heard about. Although googling this I saw links referring to a man who got a leg to work in a similar capacity.

A way to see how many calories you actually did consume in a day. Would make dieting and losing weight a lot easier.

The Amunis from the Assassin's Creed series. That would be brilliant.
Teleportation and other life sustaining planets would be nice, too. As well as the ability to quite literally be in someone else's mind. Vampires. Yeah, just those lol

I would love to see cancer cured.

It is such a nasty disease. It claims so many lives, or changes so many loved...it just awful.

Actually, you know what? (Here comes me unrealistic, ha! You're serious? Moments) I would love to see those "health beds" like in the film Elysium where you lay down, turn it on and it scans you and pulls/repairs all impurities (disease, defect, whatnot...) from your body.

Also- still waiting on better transplant methods and that Muscular Dystrophy cure.
