Muses

  • People inspire me.
Like, especially if you go to a mall and 'people-watch' for a few hours.
It's how I get my characters.
If I see one person in particular that seems to interest me, I'll come up with a name for them and some sort of background history for them.
If I don't like them that much, I tend to make it somewhat tragic.
    >>

I also get inspiration for things I hear people say, as well.

  • Jon Walker.:
^ Same. :XD I just saw a comment on youtube on a random video and it's got my head buzzing with ideas. :XD
I love it when that happens. :XD
One second I'll just be sitting there bored, then inspiration strikes and it's like the opposite of writer's block. :tehe:

  • I have a lot of muses, actually. My bands, obviously, but also other authors. Stephen King, mainly. In Love
    But also other Mibbians.
And of course, just things that I see in my life.

  • I get heaps of ideas whilst eavesdropping on the bus/train. :tehe:

  • Music inspires me alot, if I hear a song that makes me react in a certain way I channel that emotion into writing.

  • I can't listen to music whilst writing.
It makes things very complicated for me.

Inspiration comes to me at random times.
Mostly from TV shows and/or my daydreams.

  • I get most of my story ideas while I'm showering. I keep an eyeliner on the bathroom sink, so that I can just hop out of the shower and jot stuff down on the countertop.

  • Life in general. Everything, anything, nothing.
Sometimes it's the smallest most insignificant thing
that's passed everyone by unnoticed. Sometimes it's
    the major changes in life.

  • Music inspires me. And specific people. Quotes, books, and sometimes movies.

Photos too. Whether they be photoshops or shitty ones taken with a camera phone. An upcoming oneshot I'm writing was inspired by a photo and the entire feel of it is kind of channelled into it. Every photo has something in it, some story behind it, and sometimes the emotion or whatever-you-will just hits me and I have to write.

  • My muse is Freddie, my girlfriend. She inspires me to write. Shes just amazing to be honest. Its hard to explain how she inspires me but she is my muse.

  • Anything is my muse.
If it were a person though, I've had a few. First it was one of my ex (who didn't know which site I wrote at the time), then my current boyfriend who discovered months into the relationship I wrote but that kind of took the muse away. It was better writing romance when he didn't know about it... but he doesn't read so he won't read my stories :(. I still write for him, but only certain things inspire me now.

Now it's my best friend, Laura. I have so many ideas, and she's there to bounce them off and make them come to life. Maybe because she's a writer too :)

Mostly I love long car journey's. Especially to the countryside. The most vivid things I seen is the gradient of colours in trees (From red to orange to yellow, it was beautiful) and like an orange-y purple sunset. Them things made me instantly want to write, even if it wasn't anything about them.

  • I have quite a couple of muses I guess.
One: Music, The Birthday Massacre mainly, their lyrics are really inspirational.Punk
Two: People, I have quite afew people in my life who help me write, and all the people on mibba of course. :cute:
    And...There isn't a three. :shifty

  • My muses tend to be of a romantic sort. I use my want for a love life to help me write and I use my fantasies of what my love life would be like if I had one. ^^;;
And I read a lot of shoujo romance mangas.
Then I usually make up a new story. =]
    Music also helps the cause.

  • Do you have a muse that helps you write? If so, what are they like?

Brian Haner, yes, Synyster Gates is my muse. But recently, I've been falling for Kaiden Blake. Do you know that Scene King? Well, so far with his either brown hair or blue length, he's been a plague in my mind. But for the most part, it's either Brian or Kaiden. It's definitely an inspiration to my up and coming fanfiction "Scene Queens".

  • Oh, I forgot to mention, I am not sure if it's the guitar playing and his badass-ness, but Syn has my pen...er keyboard...when it comes to posting my chapters on Mibba. Kaiden is a definite second muse though. I love his dark eyes and his sweet smile. And Kaiden's voice doesn't really sound girly (at least not to me anyway).

  • Muses for me are people I admire.
For my latest fic, I'm basically taking everything I admire/see of a side of Pete Wentz and underlying it in my story.
It flows so easily it's unbelieveable.

  • A muse [in a strict sense] is not just someone/thing that inspires you to write/create unconciously, but also a source of knowledge/skill and it's a concious act, you ask Muses for help, like in the Iliad: Sing to me of the man, Muse, the man of twists and turns driven time and again off course, once he had plundered the hallowed heights of Troy. You invoke muses, beg them to give you knowledge and protection, you don't just get inspiration on your own.
I'm not sure if I've made a lot of sense. :/
