How often do you comment on stories or poems? What makes you decided that you're going to comment? What kinds of things do you comment on and include in your comment?
I really just want to see how many people actually do comment on stories. Me, I comment every story I read and every update, cause I like the author to know what I am thinking and I'll predict what I think is going to happen, and tell them overall what i thought. I don't think it's rude that you don't comment after you read, but I think it would be a nice thing to leave a comment after you read so I know if I suck or not Disgust

I try and comment as often as possible. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It all depends on how much time I have, and if I have anything funny/important/helpful to say. If not, then I keep my trap shut. xDD

    No, I don't.

I only comment if I really liked it or if it's for the Story/Review Game. :shifty

I try to post comments, but really only do if I really enjoyed the story, and kind of took something away from it, or it touched me, or provoked emotion.

No. I really only comment if I really really liked it or if it's really good, cause then I can give it a review.
If I read it but can't really give it a review, then I don't like commenting with something like "good story".

I only comment if I have the time and believe I actually have something worthwhile to say about the story.

I usually do, but I of course don't write huge comments every time.
Often when I don't really have much to say I just leave a short but still encouraging one, because even though those aren't the most interesting ones, it's still good to know that someone actually likes it and wants the story to go on.

I always comment, because if it was the other way around I'd like the person to comment me :cute:
I comment on updates too. The only I don't is when its completly terrible, but I haven't come across alot of them.

I comment if I've got something to say and I have the time. Sometimes there really isn't much to say on an update. I mean, how many times can a reader say "this is really good" without it getting redunant, you know? If I have nothing 'new' to say, then I won't comment. If a chapter was particularly good or it has a line or something in it that I really liked, then I'd comment.

I don't really read much lately, so I don't comment much.
As a general rule I rarely comment something that I've really liked -because I have the feeling I'm just ruining it, in any case if I do I make it something short and uninformative. I comment stories that I liked but that -in my opinion- could be improved a bit. I don't comment stories that I really don't like. Someone deleted their story because of one of my comments once -and I didn't even hate that story, I don't want that to happen again. :shifty

    For real?
    Nope.

I only comment the story if I find it to be really good.
But I'm a mass murderer when it comes to criticism
of stories, so to be honest; I hardly ever comment. (:

No. I only comment if I'm going to remember the story five minutes after I hit the back button.

And since i hardly ever read stories on Mibba I'd say I comment every other story I read. I commented the last five or six I read though.

I'm really bad at commenting. I prefer to be able to leave a review, which requires time, so I do that on the story/review thread when I have quite a lot of time to spare.

This morning I actually read a story which made my jaw drop, and I really really wanted to comment, but it's for a competition that I'm running, so I'll wait until I give it one of the winning places and review it then :tehe:

I usually only comment if I have something to say that I think would be beneficial to the writer. I don't know about the rest of you, but getting the comments that just say, "Great job, update soon," are just kind of...eh, so if I can't think of anything to say except that, I just won't. Not that I can honestly say I read much on this site, anyway, though on the rare occasion I do my point still stands.

Definitely not. I only comment stories that strike me.
If it did nothing for me, and won't even let me remember it in a few days' time... pass.

Whenever I have something good to say, and the story or one-shot really impacted me, I do. I tend to stop reading a lot of the stories I click on because I don't find them appealing after the first paragraph, so I mostly read things that do cause an impact in me. So that ends in me mostly commenting everything I read.

I used to comment every story I read... but I hardly have time to read all the updates now, let alone comment everything I do get the chance to read.
There's a few stories on my subscriptions list I really like and I do try to comment when I think the author writes a good chapter for them, and because I pick out the ones I like most I tend to find myself commenting the same stories quite often.

Same here. :file: Because sometimes I just don't have enough time. I'm a bit of a ghost reader nowadays.
