Death Sentences

  • People in jails have better schooling then people who aren't in jail... these people also get tvs and sooo on which stupid these people are in there for crime.

Now for the death sentence i agree with it if this person has killed like a handful of people why should they be allowed to live? They took these peoples life for a reason that isn't good enough or they may not even have a reason for killing them.

Now for rapers who have raped someone(woman man or kids) should be in the normal jail and not in some place where they are away from the other prisoners if there not gonna give them the death sentence. They deserve to die especially the people who rap and touch little kids.

Now that isn't even an 'eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth', is it?
People say that, in the case of the death sentance for murder, the punishment equals the crime. How can you justify the death sentance for rape, when rape isn't an equal crime to murder?

It would be like the Elizabethans, who used to hang street urchins for stealing apples.

im not saying kill them under the death sentence i just don't agree that they get there own little cell from everyone else i mean you might as well give the guy who follows a sutton religion his own jail cell away from everybody because there gonna beat him up but you know what they don't, hes put in with everyone else and gets beat up and even killed

  • I was going to say it is sometimes right but now I change my mind.

Death Penalty gives them a reason to not learn about what they did. Sure they may go to hell when the die, but they should pay more for what they did. I believe they should go to prison for life no chance of probation ever, if they committed a crime big enough to be give death penalty.

But all this does not matter because there is still tons of criminals who need life who are not caught yet. You should think about the future instead of reflecting on the past.

  • The thing with death sentences is that you might have them, but we don't use them. I live in CA for example, most inmates on death row are excused or simply die in luxury before their execution. Meanwhile, they're in there soaking up all the tax money that could have been used to better schools, maybe introducing a moral class to prevent murders, or something of that nature. I know it might sound shallow, but it's true.

We have a death penalty to stop more people from dying, so let's use it.

Your contradicting yourself with that statement....lol. I agree that the death penalty should be used but not taken advantage of.

  • The death penalty is inherently contradictive.

  • I don't think they're nessecary. Just put a person in prison. That's pretty bad, so why put them out of their misery? Keep them locked up for as long as possible.

  • I don't think they're nessecary either...if you want someone to suffer enough to kill them then give them a few life sentences and let them rot in jail...i think thats suffering

  • the death sentence, i think is an easy way out. let them live their life locked up in a jail cell, having to deal with the guilt of the crime they commited.

or, i think it could be fair, to a certain extent, to have the criminal go through what he or she did to the victim.

  • The problem is with crimes and going to jail or even having the crime on your record. Your life almost never goes back to normal. If I remember only 9% of inmates who are released get jobs and become succsessful. The other 91% return back to jail.
    July 13th, 2007 at 07:44am
  • I can understand that, and it depends on the crime the person has committed. And the other 91% dont have to go back to jail they want to and thats why they do it. But the death sentences isnt for the people who go in and out of jail its for those who have committed a huge crime such as murdering like 15 woman, and at that point i agree that they should be killed.

  • I don't think death sentences are necessary at all.
How is murdering a murderer going to make any justice? (Religion probably comes in to this. -_-)
I think just locking them up will be more toucher than killing them.
    July 13th, 2007 at 07:17pm
  • It's so hypocritical.

  • I support them. Life in prison means that my tax dollars go to support someone who's never going to have to life a finger to do work again, spend their life in moderate comfort, three meals a day, etc. If you're going to give them life in prison, why not the death penalty? If the crime is heinous enough, then I think its deserved.
    July 17th, 2007 at 08:31pm
  • They don't work.

Why kill people, who kill people to teach people that killing is wrong?

    Huh?

Then your prison systems are weird.
In ours, prisoners have to do real work such as manual labour or stitching postbags or some such repetitive activity.

  • I don't think we have forced labour in Australia.

    Erm.

Yes, it makes their stay in prison somewhat detrimental to society, doesn't it?
