Creating Your Own Religion

I'm pretty sure this doesn't exist and if it does, then please tell me what it would be called.

I don't think I can really believe in any religion thats out there. I'm not entirely sure that Jesus was the son of God or there are many gods and goddess that are the face of one god. Really, even the idea of Pastafarians and Googlism just isn't it for me. I've been thinking about it, and I'm pretty sure I came up with my own idea that just works for me.

In my own religion where I am the only follower I think that God (maybe the same God Christians and Jews worship, maybe not) send 6 'saints' or prophets down to Earth. There were three of each gender, because neither gender is better than the other. They were all siblings, but were not raised in the same household, to show that you don't have to be biological related to be loved.

As for how the world was created? God didn't simply say 'let there be light' he struggled with creating a source of warmth. Same with everything else.

Life after death is very simple. If you want to believe in Hell and Heaven/Paradise, then that's what it is for you. If you believe in reincarnation, then you'll be reincarnated. If you believe you simply die and that's it, then you'll simply die.

Yes, there are other morals and rules in mine, but I won't bore you with them. Quite frankly, this just makes sense to me and evens out the ideas of life.

So, if you guys had to create your own religion what would it be like? Do you think I'm insane and should be banned from the site and the earth? Really, just what do you think?

I think that if only one person believes in a religion, ithey could be called schizophrenic.

If I was to make up a religion, I'd keep the people very very scared and squeeze as much money out of them as possible.

I think I'd be a very ruthless cult leader.

I think making up a religion is fine.
Every person is different and most people believe different things.
If you do believe something then that's fine.
I'm a Christian, but with a very tweaked view of things.
I believe Earth is Hell, I believe that you can be whatever religion you want, I believe you get whatever afterlife you want (if you're a good person), I believe that God doesn't give a fuck about petty things like who you worship.
I think that the point of religion is to give you hope and to make you feel at ease with your beliefs.
As long as your religion does that and doesn't hurt anyone, go for it.
It's your belief system. And every religion has had people persecute it and say terrible things about it's followers. A religion of one is going to be no different.

Yeah, I mean someone had to create Christianity, Islam, Catholicism, Judaism...etc etc...

If your beliefs don't match up with any of those of other religions you can make your own religion or just have your beliefs.

I don't have my own religion per se, but I have my own set of beliefs. I just call that... my beliefs.

It's impossible to create your own religion. Directly, anyway.

Think up a philosophy. A way of living. Spread it around to a few people who agree with it. Then you have a cult. Once enough people agree with you, and probably much to the distortion of your original ideas, your "beleif" will become a official religion.

The thing is the actual belief probably wasn't created, the rules and structure yes, but the one's who believed didn't create the belief.

What if you have your own set of spiritual beliefs, but feel no need to share them or form a group around them? Why does everything have to be a religion?

^I think most people have their own spiritual beliefs or at least mold the ideas of the major religions to their personal beliefs, what's unsettling (and slightly offensive) is the idea of creating a religion- creation implies creativity and imagination and most importantly the desire to create, whereas spiritual truths are reveled/discovered. An Atheist discovers that God doesn't exist, he doesn't make up a story about why God doesn't exist and chooses to believe in it.
