I tried it for the first time back in April or May. I didn't get high at first because I didn't know what I was doing and I guess didn't inhale properly. But towards the end of the night I had started to feel a little high.

Every time I've smoked after that, I was able to get extremely blazed. I smoke a lot now, which is surprising to me because I never imagined myself becoming a casual smoker, but here I am now, smoking every other night. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I don't drive while I smoke, and I'm not harming anyone by doing it.

I don't get the famous munchies all the time. Occasionally I'll eat while I'm high, and the food tastes a lot better, but for the most part I honestly have no interest in eating while smoking. I just get a very dry mouth, especially since even when I'm not smoking my mouth is usually dry 'cause I'm thirsty all the time, so when I'm smoking I carry a bottle of water with me. XD

It's always been an interest of mine ever since I was a little kid. I know all my facts, all my numbers, and all my local growers and dealers. I tried it for the first time back in Septemeber and have been high prolly 5 times since. Granted, Im no stoner kid but I do like my pot. I just enjoy other parts of my life too; I'm too busy to toke up and tune out every day of my life. And I think even if given the option to do that every day that I wouldn't. But I do enjoy it.

And I could really go for a hit right now.

I've done it I think seven times, and about maybe had a contact high hundreds of times. Almost all my friends smoke weed, my sister can't go a day without about fifteen cones. I also know many dealers in a 5 km radius. In my opinion I don't like it. It changes people. And just isn't worth getting into trouble for. I prefer alcohol. (:

I do agree that it changes people. It helps me with my anxiety so much and that is a positive change. None of the anti-anxiety medication my psychiatrists [psychologists?] tried me on helped, but weed is such an amazing anti-anxiety drug. [I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder.]

I smoke nearly every day, anywhere from 2-10 bowls depending on the day and the company I'm keeping. Generally 2-6 bowls split between 2-3 people. And I rarely smoke before 4 PM.

    I've got a question.

So last week I did a bit of smoking but only a bit because I didn't really want to get high. Just did it out of fun/whatever. And the thing is, I didn't feel high but I acted high.

    How does that work?

Like I didn't feel the amazing, relaxing good feeling and shit. But I acted like I was really baked. I kept saying "I'm not high!!" but no one I smoked and chilled with afterwards believed me because... really... if you saw how I acted, you would so think I am high -.-

Anyone know how that works? Second time it happened jeez

Well, I'm not sure what kind of "amazing, relaxing" feeling you're expecting, so that could be part of it. It is very relaxing and calming (for most people) and you just feel really content, but not "fucked up" or anything by any means. Weed isn't this intense euphoria like H or e, so if you're expecting something like that, that may be part of it. (I had done a ton of prescription pills, tripped DXM, and drank a lot before I ever smoked weed, so it definitely wasn't as intense as I'd expected and I also didn't think I was high because I was expecting something so much more in-your-face.)

Anyway, I'm not sure what you mean when you say you "acted high"? 'Cause how you act when you're high varies a lot person to person. Myself, I don't act at all differently when I'm high and never have; people never have any clue I've blazed unless I tell them, even if I feel baked as fuck. And most people I know don't act differently, except more chilled out and possibly a little slower.

Maybe you were just kind of caught up in the act and atmosphere of blazing so you "acted high" even if you didn't necessarily feel high? Again, that depends on what you mean by "acting high" and what exactly you were feeling.

My advice: just start smoking more and then you'll definitely feel high! xD

I was against it at first, for no real reason. I just knew it was illegal and that was enough to convince me that I shouldn't do it. But on Holloween, I was with my friend and her boyfriend (major pot smoker/dealer), and tried it for the first time. I felt high but now that I look back on it, I was just being stupid and just thought I was high. I smoke every once in awhile and now I have nothing against it.

I don't feel stupider, I feel the same. Before I would feel high but now it takes either a lot to get me high or it just doesn't effect me as much. So basically, I'm not against it anymore. I like smoking it because it's relaxing and fun. I found it to be a stress reliever. A lot of the stereotypes are untrue unless you do it 24/7.

The only thing I don't like about it is the taste. I've never really like the taste. I usually just stick with straight up normal weed because I've tried the really good kind and it burned like hell, I never want to try that again.

This may sound weird but since I've started smoking weed, I've been more open to trying new things. I really think it should be legalized because I really don't see anything wrong with it anymore.

Almost all pot stereotypes are false. Especially that it "Kills brain cells". If you're stupid when you start, you'll still be stupid. And if you're smart when you start there will be no drop in intelligence. Though granted, while intoxicated you can act dumb as a rock but when you're intoxicated on /ANYTHING/ you can act as dumb as a rock.

I don't do it only because I have asthma but I do support it all the way.

My friend told me that pot smoke doesn't irritate the lungs as much as cigarettes do but I'm not going to risk dying trying to figure it out. I'm waiting for an asthmatic to tell me from experience, then I'll consider it.

I'm an asthmatic, and I've smoked both cigarettes and weed (and spice, which mimics the effects of marijuana, but I don't recommend that at all, I'd advise keeping your lungs as far away from spice as possible).

It depends on how severe your asthma is. If you're like me and it's just really terrible during allergy season and cold weather, but only a mild to absent issue otherwise, you should be fine with either--although cigarettes will have more of an impact on your lungs than weed if you smoke them long-term.

For weed, though, your first time (maybe others, too, if you're a lightweight like me) you should be fine with a few hits, which shouldn't irritate your lungs (although it also depends on the weed itself, and if you're having breathing problems around the time when you do smoke then that'll attribute more to it as well). Your tolerance is incredibly low when you start, so it shouldn't take much to give you a high at first, which means less inhaling of it into your lungs. I had two hits from my first time, and I was high, and I didn't have any problems with my asthma that day, nor have I had any problems other time I've smoked weed.

But I can't tell you for sure how it'll affect you; everybody's different. That's just my experience with it as an asthmatic.

On another note: would it be irrelevant/off-topic to talk about spice on here? It's not marijuana, but it mimics it's effects and has been called "fake marijuana" because of their similarities. If it's not off-topic in relation to the thread, if anyone here has done it, how did your experience with it turn out? Mine wasn't pleasant, but I'm curious to see how it affected others.

I smoked just to impress the boy I was with at the time. I've only done it twice since, but afterwards I always feel guilty and paranoid. Everyone tells me it's just the side-effects of the weed, but sometimes I think it's just me.

The brain damage that frequent usage of marijuana, alcohol and other drugs cause don't really make you "stupid" because intelligence is a combination of factors. What they do do is affect the way your brain processes and stores information which means that your short term memory and your ability to focus on something for a long period of time are both weakened - and that makes learning new things progressively more difficult.

My brother did it a few months ago and he spent like half the day in the bathroom, head resting on the toilet. His eyes were all red and puffy and he pretty much looked like shit. I've never done it, and I probably never will because that kind of freaked me out!

Well, if you say you do, I guess it must be true although several systematic tests carried out by teams of researchers using objective means of calculating memory and attention performance say otherwise. But just because you say it and you're so unbiased when it comes to this subject.

Well, if I'm not lying then clearly they didn't prove this occurred in 100% of people 100% of the time.

I don't know if this will be considered off topic, but when I tried spice (everyone calls it pot pourri where I live, or synthetic weed) for the first time, it was absolutely horrible. I took only 3 hits in the span of about four hours. I was so completely fucked up that I literally got motion sickness while sitting on the couch when I wasn't moving. I couldn't walk straight, my breathing was rapid, my heart rate was very fast, I was twitchy and going in and out of consciousness. Moving made me feel sick to my stomach. I couldn't think clearly.

My coworker who I was smoking the spice with was so freaked out by my reaction that he almost rushed my ass to the hospital. I was in the bathroom for over an hour puking/passing out next to the toilet. I honestly would not reccomend anyone ever doing spice because it's just not worth it. If you want to get high, you're much better off smoking real marijuana because you can't over dose on it like you can with spice.

Assuming you're not lying (which we can't know for certain), you don't have the means to accurately measure the impact of marijuana consumption on your memory and ability to focus. You say that you "learn" "new things" "constantly" because it's a requirement for your job, well, quantify for us "learn" (do you memory blocks of information? do you learn certain skills?) those "new things" (what are they, actually? blocks of text? images? actions? skills? spinets of information?) and "constantly" (how often is constantly, exactly? for long does learning things take?), then tell us how you know that before you starting using marijuana your memory and focus were exactly the same (did you learn the exact same things in the same manner with the same frequency just as quickly before?).

To act like pumping your brain full of THC on a regular basis will not have any effect on it is extremely naive. Any foreign substance that you put in the brain regularly will eventually affect and, usually damage the brain.

Cannabis isn't a foreign substance. There are receptors in our brain made to break it down.
