My great uncle tried to shoot up a church in a fit of revenge against his girlfriend. He didn't actually kill anyone, but only because his glasses fell off as he began to shoot.

If they hadn't, the people in the church wouldn't have had a chance.

As far as I know, he's still in prison.

Everybody's family histories are pretty messed up, although that's a bit biased according to the topic.
    My family is pretty normal.
Both my parents are still together even.

Uhmm... There's the Italian mob on my dad's side of the family.
On my mom's, there's a lot of Native American blood. My mom and her sister's did the research and found that my grandpa would have been in the line to be Indian Cheif. So would that make me Indian royalty?
My Aunt on my mother's side is in a serious relationship with a woman, but she refuses to say she's gay.

Everyone else's stories makes mine seem normal.

One of my Grandmother's cousins got divorced and it was a huuuuge scandal because that side of my family is very very Catholic. So she was shunned from the family. It also happened to one of my mother's cousins who married a divorced woman and now his family won't speak to him either.

I think it's messed up to just shun a person for those reasons. :/

My stepdad's grandpa was a high-ranking German Nazi in the Holocaust. He was one of the guys who commanded a concentration camp. And my mom cheated on my father with this man under the claim that she was going to have a surrogate baby with him.
    That's about all I've got.

My dad was a huge drug dealer in my area, but the biggest drug lord in Mexico (he's incarcerated now) had him murdered when I was eight. Sad

    My daddy was amazing. Sad

    Where to start....
when I was a baby, my aunt Brenda called social services on my dad and grandpa (her own father) telling em that they abused me.....my mother won't talk to her sister no more.

My mother and sister have bipolar disoders. One moment their calm and quiet and the next their cussing you out for not doing the dishes or cleaning your room.

My cousins will do anything to make my family look bad. I don't know why. i guess it's because we lived with grandpa for so many years and he loved us more than them? Is that my fault? Is it that hard to call grandpa up and say hi once in a while instead of partying like theres no tomorrow and drinking every last drop of beer?

My 18 yr old sister (Kym) was apparently on drugs for a while with no one knowing. She just got off her medication. (right this moment she's arguing with my mom about her relationship with her 25 year old boyfriend who has a kid that he don't support) Her and her boyfriend stole from my family (our ipods, xbox 360, my 40 bucks, etc) all for drug money. Her boyfriend was arrested two months ago and placed in jail for a year for gun possesion. She writes him love letters every day.

My 21 yr old sister (Steph) married a great guy (why he married her still baffles me). She's pregnant with a girl. She goes to church and is close to the spirit and reads her scriptures every day and prays before every meal like the good mormon she is. She came over to my house this morning.....she started screaming at my other sister telling her she'll never go to college because she's not willing to change and she's a drug addict and no one will pay for her college. Grandpa only pays for Stephs college because she's grandpa's "favorite". Steph screamed at her own mother telling her she's raising her kids wrong. She made everyone in the family cry. My dad was down in Mesquite gambling on football teams.

Today is my best friends birthday. She'll be 16 years old. I watched her die four years ago crossing a street on our way to our bus stop. The docs said she died in the hospital from internal bleeding and kidney failure or something close...but my friends mom was a nurse and she said Chelsie was dead on the scene, maybe not on impact, but just a little while after, I guess. I was 12 years old. There were 7 witnesses. 6 of us were the best of friends. I don't talk to any of them except for two,and I barely talk to them because one lived in Arizona and the other is a drug addict. Me? I dont' know what I am. I'm just broken. I only have three friends that actually care about me. One of them is dead. The other's in Arizona and the third is in Ohio. I'm in Utah. I think about death everyday and my family doesn't know how I feel. They don't ask. They didn't even notice why I randomly bought a stuffed bear.....anyways that's my family.....and it's all on my moms side.

Why is it more common to be on a persons mothers side of the family? Beats me.

Wow... i thought my family was fudged up...

My mom had a daughter that my aunt adopted so by law we are cousins now, the guy I call my brother is only my cousin (by marriage), I only have Half- siblings no full, and the guy I thought was my father (Fry) wasn't really and I didn't find out who my real father was until after he died and he has the same name (Carl) as my step-dad who I claimed as my real dad who also died last year....

    I think that's about it....

My aunt, a drug addict now, was adopted about a month after she was born. She was adopted by my grandmother. But my aunt was the baby of my grandfather and some woman he had an affair with. She was all kinds of messed up and insane, and my aunt was born addicted to crack, since the mother did drugs. But long story short, the woman my grandfather had an affair with was threatening to kill my grandfather's family, so he killed her. She was found under the El, stabbed 72 times. I swear it's true. My grandfather was a suspect but no evidence was found. My grandfather once plucked every tooth out of a man's mouth, and nail off his fingers for saying disturbing things, and trying to touch my grandmother.
You wouldn't suspect him to be such a maniac, because he's really the sweetest guy towards his family, it's nuts.
& My uncle, on my biological dad's side, is in the Italian Mafia, and is the highest paid drug dealer in Philadelphia.
I love how my family is all kinds of fucked up...

My uncle abused his wife and put a gun to her head (didn't kill her). He went to jail, got out and sold drugs and did crack-cocaine, then stole some woman's car at a gas station (police officers found and arrested him, taking the car back). He's currently in jail with no hopes for him getting out this time. To be frank I hope he stays there, he's not who I thought he was when I was younger.

My dad attempted to kidnap me when I was younger, but police officers caught up to him and arrested him. He abused my mom (pushed her down and stepped on her face) and went to jail about two years back, he's out now (went to jail for about two/three months afterwards) and I believe that things have changed. I don't know, the situation in its entirety is complicated and difficult to explain. He abused my mom over time - on occasions I guess you could say, maybe like, once every five years. It's still extremely hard to cope with but I still love him.

I've got some other fucked up family members but I cannot be bothered to explain their situations.

My dad smokes way too much pot and in 2006 got "beaten up by gypsies". My half uncle has been in prison multiple times (the latest for beating up a heroin dealer) and has a daughter called Armani. My grandfather also smokes way too much pot and tried to kill himself in '96. Grandpa George is a WW2 veteran and tells me I am a Nazi for being able to speak some German (this is on his bad days), usually he's a very nice and polite old man. My step grandfather helped build the newer Severn Bridge. :3 Grandma Vicky's a psycho.

That's why I hate going to Newport for Christmas.
