My great-uncle was banned from the state of Alabama, can't remember what for. But after he went to prison he strangled someone for making a homophobic statement.
He was called MadDog because he would go into liquor stores, drink half a bottle of maddog, put it back on a shelf and then buy a completely different bottle. From what my mom and uncles said he was an awesome guy. >.> Regardless of the fact he killed someone. He was the type who would give you the shirt off his back and bought them candy every time they saw him.
My mom almost shot her stepdad because he beat my grandmother. The bullet went right by his ear, he shot back at her. All the cops did was take away their guns.
I loved hearing stories growing up, because of stuff like that.
