I am the first person in my family to go to university, I am done with my first year now, I wouldn't it to heart.

I don't know if all schools do "career interviews", but mine does, so I had to talk to someone from Career Scotland about options once I leave school. Anyway, one thing really annoyed me - she had already seen my records, expected grades, reports from teachers and everything, but said she wad "suprised" I was so set on going to university "given my background". She was meaning that my 3 step-brothers left school and didn't sit exam, and my dad and step dad both left school to get jobs that didn't require qualifications. I just thought that was completely out of line, especially since I'm a good student, and my sister (who, of course had the same "background" ) is studying at Edinburgh.
If any of you ever need some advice I am here if you need it, a voice of experience.
