Now I know it's not common to hear pop/rap/metal christian music but what are you favorites or your thoughts on it?

I know alot of people think christian rap and metal is hypocritical but I love christian metal. But what are your thoughts on that kind of thing?

Name some Christian bands you like.

    My favorites are:
    Project 86
    Blessthefall
    August Burns Red
    RED
    Stavesacre.

I don't know why but when I listen to some of their songs I get chills. Good chills.

Also I apologize if you took offense to this in any way. I know not everyone agrees on the same topics but I'd like it if we could show some respect to people's beliefs.

    My favs are as follows:
    Flyleaf
    Skillet
    Reliant K
    Family Force 5
    Petra
    The Fray
And, though they're not considered a Christian band, they're actually Christians, and I like Paramore.

Most of the bands I listen to have members that are Atheists and I don't really care.

I do like Relient K, though.
In high school I really liked Jacob's Generation. Got to hang out with them. They're cool guys, but I don't really like that sound of music anymore.

I'm not a fan of straight-forward Christian music.
I like the Christian bands with songs that are just basically great meanings.

Switchfoot and Relient K are the only two I can think off that I like off the top of my head. I don't like Flyleaf anymore.

I like worship music just fine, but I only like to listen to it at church.

I think their message is wonderful.

There's also a hardcore Christian band setting themselves up in my town, called Ready for Battle. I think I will like their music once I hear it.

Mmmmmm IDK as far as Christian bands go, I really like Subseven... their song Game Of Love is flippin amazing.
I don't sit around listening to praise music much, but I like some contemporary church music like "Lord I Lift Your Name On High," "Heart Of Worship," and some others like that.
I can't think of the Christian bands I like right now, really, but I do listen to DC Talk and Jars of Clay and things like that sometimes, along with a few select Michael W. Smith songs that remind me of when I was little...

Haste The Day are one of my favourite bands, and I was interested in how they're classed as a Christian band, back when I was a Christian. Since then I've lost my faith but I still love their music, they're amazing. In Love

To be honest, I like Byzantine music in church.
I like the feeling of continuity, I like knowing that religious rites haven't changed for hundreds of years and that tradition is still kept. And it's quite beautiful, too and dunno, different from everyday music. But de gustibus non discutandum.

I like a lot of Christian bands, just like I like a lot of athiest bands. Whatever their religion is, doesn't dictate whether I listen to them or not.

I really like Family Force 5 and Skillet.
I've seen Skillet live, and met them. It was freakin' sweet.

But uh, yeah. I really don't like the completely direct songs that are all repetitive and played in church, and it rubs off all this fake-type happiness.
    Christian Rock is awesome.

How is Paramore a Christian band simply become the members are Christians?

Does this make Panic at the Disco at Atheist band?
And Fall Out Boy a three quarters Atheist band that is also one quarter Jewish?

    I agree with this.
Hayley has been quoted on occasion saying that they band isn't a Christian band due to a lot of their subject matter.
"Once a whore you're nothing more" etc.

However, that doesn't mean the band members aren't Christians. They believe, they just don't write songs praising God directly.

    _______________________________________________________

I like how there are a lot of Christian bands out there that don't advertise it. I was in a conversation with a friend of mine and he was "bashing" my love of Christian music. Then he said something along the lines of, "Since you like Christian music I guess you don't listen to Norma Jean."
I was laughing too hard to correct him. :tehe:
