I'm 15 and I've recently got a job at the local pharmacy, just behind the counter on Saturdays. I phoned up and just asked if they had any job vacancies.

Where I live, you have to be 16 before you even have a hope of getting a half-decent job, unless you're related to the company owners or know someone who is.

But some places allow limited hours in fast-food places or coffee shops, and there's babysitting and boarding kennels are usually pretty good, as long as you're good with animals.

Here, you have to be fourteen for a job.

I have an interview in about an hour at the video store near where I live, and I just went in yesterday and gave the manager my resumé.

I'm looking for a job at the moment, but most jobs in my area seem to be for sixteen and up or eighteen and up.
I'm probably going to end up working at either McDonald's or a grocery store.

^ I have the exact same problem. *sigh* I mean, seriously. Is it REALLY so hard to bus tables that nobody under sixteen can do it? As much as I appreciate the fact that I wasn't forced to work as a chimney sweep at five, child labor laws can get ridiculous at times.</whining>

The summer camp thing sounds like a good idea. So does babysitting. Thanks. :)

Well, if you're talented enough, you can go to talenthunter.com. They hire actors and actresses of any age. Literally try it. I tried it and I was is several commercials for my area and it pays real well depending on where you are.

I think volunteering is something to look into, but I don't really know if that counts or not.

Cleaning someone's house is a job anyone can legally do, but if it's a large house and a small payment, it is probably a waste of time.

    Swap meet.

You gotta get up early and you need someone to drive you and it only really works if you've got a lot of crap...

But I made like $13 bucks and hour.

I'm going to look into getting a job at the ice cream place down the street. They hired my brother when he was about my age, so hopefully, they'll hire me as well.

Where I live it is mostly fast food places and babysitting, but also you could try the movie theater, sometimes they do hire, I have to send my resume in for it, but it says that legally I am applied to work there, but it does depend on first impression and if they need you to work.

Where I am ffrom, jobs for teens are very limited. I know at the Mall you have to be 18 to get a job there, unless they are hiring for holiday, in which case you can be 17. The best chance you have at getting a job is at a grocery store or something. But you can't, legally, get a job until you are 16.

It's really so difficult to find a job.
I'm 15 and living in FL and I really need a job to provide for my family, but it's almost impossible.

Yeah I don't think there are any jobs that hire 14 year olds unless some place is in real desperate need. I would wait until you're 16, and then make like ten copies of your resume, and then go to all different kinds of places and apply. That's what I'm going to do when I turn 16. I have three places in mind where I'd like to work: a library, a bowling alley, and a bank. But I'll still apply to other places too, just in case I don't get any of them. Good luck with your job hunt!!

I'm 15, and all I did was print out some resumes and hand them out! That's how I got my job.
