I love reading. And I'm pretty sure it loves me. I'll go to bed at midnight and read until two. Books really don't help with my sleeping habits.

Anyone else? Favorite genres? Books? Passages? Favorite time to read? Etc., etc.

There's nothing better than reading a good book. :cute: I read basically everything but Chuck Palahniuk and Stephen King are my favorite authors.

The Hotel New Hampshire is my favorite book though. :cheese: It is so amazing.

I love Chuck Palahniuk. I just finished Invisible Monsters. I don't think it was as good as it was acclaimed to be, though.
My favorite by him is Rant, I loved that book.

Other than that, I really liked Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli… even though it's kind of a kids book. :tehe:

^^ I haven't read Invisible Monsters yet. I've read Fight Club, Haunted and Snuff. I can't pick a favorite. :XD

I've read Stargirl! Wow It's a really unique book. I haven't read it in awhile, although I think it's on my bookshelf somewhere.

Oh, and I like to read anywhere, anytime, including during commercial breaks. :XD

I read when I have the time and the peace. I normally don't have that in my every day life, so I usually read when it's night time and all is peaceful. My house is hectic during the day. I think that's why I became partially nocturnal.

    I'm a read-aholic.

I've been known to read nonstop when I'm out at the cabin or when I have some spare moments. It's my way of relaxing. I usually read a book every few days, or even a book a day during the summer :XD

Some of my fav authors are Stephen King, Chuck Palahnuik, Deb Caletti, Peter David (for his amazing Star Trek novels), and many more. My favorite book of all time is The Time Traveler's Wife by Audry Niffenegger. Seriously, if you haven't read it, you definitly need to.

I like the Harry Potter series. I'm also a fan of the Twilight series. Mary Higgins Clark and Nicholas Sparks are among my favorite authors, too.

    Neither have I.
I'm re-reading them at the moment. I do at least once a year, usually in the summer.
    Same with the Narnia books.

I read every night for at least an hour before I go to bed. Have done since I was about 7 or 8.
If I'm really enjoying a book or a series I'll read during the day as well, but I'm usually busy writing or doing something else during the day.

But reading is not a hobby, it's ~a way of life~. I can't imagine my life not gravitating around it.
I always liked to read, but I started being seriously interested in literature, dunno, about three years ago. By serious I mean, it stopped being just something I do when I have the time, but something I devote time and energy to. I sound weird. I know all kinds of things about books and the history of literature and words, but it's not that, reading, understanding books is simply the thing that gets me out of bed in the morning, something that gets me extremely excited. When I come up with some new theory about a book, I literally jump around and cheer and tell everybody about it. See, I am weird about this.

I read at night until around 3 too, lately even later, mainly because I can't sleep. :XD
And during the day for a few hours. Sometimes I'm lazy and other times I'm busy, but I try not to let a day go by without 3-4 hours of reading. I wish I had the discipline to go with a book per day at least when I'm on holiday, but my ratio is around a book/two days depending on the book.

I can't name a favorite, or more. I usually break away with at least one idea that I love from each book, or almost each one. When it comes to quotes about books & literature (which seem proper here), Borges is the absolute source and I think he's required reading for anybody who thinks of themselves as a serious reader. One of my favorites is reading ... is an activity subsequent to writing: more resigned, more civil, more intellectual.

I've been meaning to buy that for awhile, one of my friends recommended it. I also want to read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, I believe. I think that's his name. :XD

If I don't have my head in a book, then I'm reading online. It's my biggest passion. I've been reading for longer than I can remember. It's the only way I could imagine living my life to be honest. In Love

I can go through two or three books a day if I stay in. Chuck Palahniuk and JK Rowling are probably my favourite authors. :3

I'm re-reading Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows for the 12th time now.
I love reading when I'm in bed hours before I fall asleep. It's relaxing and comforting.
And thick books are awesome when insomnia strikes back.

I love reading. I read all the time. In Love
If in the right mood, I can usually get through four to five in a day (give or take one or two, depending on the size of the books; I can get through four or five 300 to 400 page books in a day).
More often than not, I spend most of my time reading on Mibba nowadays. (:

Go with The Time Traveler's Wife. I've read The Notebook, and while it's interesting, I thought it was really... unemotional and detatched, if that makes any sense? I actually liked the movie better :XD

I don't read as much as I used to, but I love it. My favourite book is probably Noughts and Crosses by Mallory Blackman, or the Commitments by Roddy Doyle.

I think I understand what you mean. I've seen the movie and I really liked it, but I heard that the endings were completely different.
