- i saw sparks:
- I understand that Dujo is needed to fix features and implement things that require new coding/reworking of the site/things of that nature, I get that, but I've seen quite a few things implemented in the last....oh...four or five months or so, so saying that nothing gets done because Dujo's MIA isn't really true.
I know I've personally made suggestions that don't require new coding, just a forum thread that's stickied or something along those lines. It seems like only a handful of people are able to get the things that they want done accomplished while everyone else is ignored/criticized if they mention anything about it.
I just don't think that's fair.
Here's a list of the current suggestions in the suggestion thread, and whether or not non-Dujo staff can implement them:

These are literally all the suggestions posted within the last 8 months.
It's not a matter of us only choosing to do what the staff wants. Users want things we can't implement. Most/if not all of the suggestions in the Suggestion forums has staff members who also agree it's a good idea but if can't be implemented by us, then we can't do it.
The last thing you suggested that we could do was community building challenges (originally posted about a year ago), which we have implemented (at least in part).
If you have ideas you think we're not seeing or ignoring, then make a thread in the suggestion forum so we can see it, and if it's do-able, we'll at least try it.
Also, nearly every suggestion that comes up on the Suggestion thread gets criticism. That's how we figure out as much of the kinks as possible and figure out of users even want that thing. Staff suggested things are definitely not exempt from criticism. If you believe in an idea and want to see it come through, be sure to answer those questions that comes up in the criticism. If people have questions or doubts and no one can come up with solutions, then we're definitely going to have a much tougher time with implementing things. We need there to be more solutions that issues so we can get started on ideas. If you have an idea you want to get off the ground, work at it. Post it in the suggestion thread and work with other users to polish it off. Help plan it. Help find solutions for issues that crop up. Don't abandon ideas when they don't take off right away or when users point out parts of it that might not work. The suggestion thread is not just a suggest and walk away thread, especially if it's not a coding thing. It has to be worked at.*
* This was actually the issue with the Welcome PM idea. The idea was brought up by non-staffers. It was a good. The users who wanted that, worked on it for a long time. They planned, they plotted, they came up with more ideas and suggestions on how to make it work. We followed it. We featured it, but there's still a lot about we need to figure out. If someone offers up solutions, we can continue to work on it, but if people just give up, it's not going to go anywhere.
