Things You Don't Like About Mibba.

  • @ Synical
Yeah, it's awful! It's calmed down a lot now, but I was trying to send PMs earlier and they were taking like ten minutes to send through. Clearing out the cache and cookies kind of helped but it's still super laggy. I'm just thankful it's just hit today and hasn't been like this for weeks for me or I'd have thrown my laptop out of the window. Shifty

  • Comments and messages taking forever and a day, (I'm not kidding) to finally go through.
Or, comments and messages sending themselves twice.
Even though it's been like, what, two years or whatever, I still miss the chat feature Mibba once had. I met so many great friends through that. That's how a lot of writers and whatnot got to talk and get to know each other.

    Sigh. Good times.

The chat was still working, here, but the page isn't loading for me for some reason. But I've seen people say it still works for them so maybe it's just me. Lol. But I was on it not too long ago, though.

I feel ya lol! It's annoying for sure. Earlier this morning around 6am, I looked at the main board where stories, blogs and anything people are doing show up on there, well it was only showing Articles! All the blogs that had been posted and story recs were missing. I had to refresh my Mibba a few times before it fixed. Facepalm

I don't usually get things like that, luckily enough, but my alerts have been playing up a lot today. The only error I seem to notice is when the story and poem sections stops updating for hours on end (mainly because I stalk both sections), which hasn't happened in a little while but judging by the issues people've been having lately, I can see that maybe happening soon too.

Yeah. Sometimes I think I wouldn't know how to act if Mibba ran correctly in all aspects. I 'd probably jump up and down on my bed singing praises lol. tehe

It doesn't load for me either, so I think it's just not loading anymore. It doesn't make sense that some users can get on and others can't.

Exactly, and I was literally just on it not too long ago. Kinda sucks because I always had fun going into the chat and interacting with users I'd never met or even seen on the site before.

Computer virus, not a site issue.

I had that mostly whenever I would attempt to go to my messages or post a new chapter. It's the ads that Google provide, not Mibba, and I only solved it when I installed adblock (if you already have adblock, then it's probably to do with your computer).

Semi-late reply. Blame the fact that I saw this and wrote up a reply before I realized that when I clicked on the topic, mibba put me on the wrong page. Rolling Eyes

I know I personally have started a policy to try and avoid giving a lot of feedback on stories, because in the past when I have done it? People have taken constructive criticism way too personally. It's getting to the point where if I just don't even like something in a chapter, I don't say anything at all, because I'm tired of getting attacked. No matter how I word things, even if I just say, "Personally, this didn't make sense to me and I wish it was better explained," I've gotten treated before in the past like I just kicked their dog.

Not sure if I've pointed this out before, and I don't know if it's just me, but if I edit a post, my smilies no longer work. No idea why, but it's really frustrating.

It's not that you have to be friends with the staffers to not be fucked, it's that you can't have a quarrel with them unrelated (or related) to Mibba or you'll be fucked.
Which will be denied of course, but I have seen solid proof of this myself unfortunately. If someone "high up" doesn't like you, you're screwed either way.

I meant more along the lines of the outlets such as the editing threads, review thread, comment swap threads, places where people are actively seeking feedback on their work. I can see where you'd be a little hesitant to give constructive criticism if the author didn't ask for it, but it's sad how difficult it is to get any feedback whatsoever on here. When I started out, it wasn't like that at all.

I wish it wasn't like this. I feel like if you're in that higher position, you should be able to set your personal biases/grudges aside in order to fulfill your role. I know personally there are a ton of people that I clash with/don't always agree with, but as a member, if I happened to get their story in comment swap/review thread, whatever issues i may have with that person wouldn't affect how I reviewed their work.
