Star-Gazing

I saw this topic and immediatly one of my favorite quotes. The Universe gives everyone a serious blue feeling. This may have something to do with the udder insignificance we feel when faced with the Spiral, Barred Spiral, and Irregular galaxies. Everyone needs the serious blue feeling every once and a while as a sence of perspective.

I've been star gazing for more than I probably should. It gives me a lot to think about.

I've never really gazed at the stars, but it sounds lovely. I love astronomy, but I've kind of given up on it...

Also, I live in a city, and there's lots of light pollution. I'm moving to the country in a couple of years soon, and there'll be a deck just outside my bedroom. I think I'll be able to stargaze in peace from there.

My brother lives just out of town, where it's not so polluted, and his best friend is also a friend, and sort of a love interest of mine. So, one evening, my brother, his girlfriend, I and the aforementioned friend, we all went to the beach, near which my brother lives. We then separated into two groups, and just walked up and down, really far from each other. Then, the friend and I - we saw a shooting star together. I couldn't think of anything more amazing...

Of course, I didn't make a big deal out of it, other than "That's so cool! :brightside:" because I didn't want to seem corny, but... you know... It was just so... perfect.

I've got the loft room, so I often look out the window at the stars.

I don't know what any of them are, though. I wish I did.

I star-gaze as I walk round to my nan's at nine o'clock.
My mum and I often end up going 'Ooh, look at the stars' and then we end up looking at them as we walk around the corner.

I don't get to do it a lot though, because most of the times, you can't see the stars where I live. So I enjoy every bit of it when I can

I love to star-gaze. We don't have too many extremely special things that go around in Hawaii like meteor showers or the Northern Lights, but we still have a clear enough sky to see tons of stars.

I always used to love going up on roofs to sit and stare at them, but my mum would get mad and now I don't get to do it anymore. D:
I'd love a telescope, though. Just so that I can sit outside in my backyard or something and go star-gazing again.

You can see the stars every night at my house. We don't have any neighbors and the streetlight is really dim.

It's beautiful.

I like laying there and looking at them while I listen to music.

It's always interested me, but I always seem to forget about it, or my bum gets numb sitting on my windowsill

I love the stars. I really wish I lived in the country far away from any big city just so I could stare at the stars... They're truly amazing.

The only time I can really gaze at the stars is when I take my dog out into the back garden each night. I'll look at them for a few minutes, but it's not much. Sometimes it's too cloudy, as well.
I love looking at them, though. They're so tantalizingly beautiful.

There aren't really any stars where I live because I live in the city, but when I am high I like looking for the stars. I think the other night I saw the Milky Way and got so excited :D

I used to love looking at the stars. Now it just makes me feel lonely and single.

Leonid shower on Tuesday and Wednesday. So ready for it.

And then the Geminids are in December, on the 12th and 13th!

I recently moved to a bigger city so i don't get to see them anymore, and it makes me sad. So I got a poster of what i would be able to see and hung it above my bed. Nothing like the real thing, but better then nothing.

I'm stoked about the Geminid Meteor Shower, but the light pollution is making it really difficult to see. I think tomorrow evening I might go to the science center and view it from the planetarium.

I love star gazing. Having moved to a place where I can actually see the stars has doubled my love for it even more. I lived in the city for most of my life so being in a more country side area is lovely. I see so many stars now and even shooting stars :D I especially love meteor showers even more, now that I can see them. Saw 3 pretty awesome bright ones from last night's shower.

I’ve never stargazed properly, but I’m incredibly interested in astronomy. I live in an area that isn’t polluted enough to have awful stars, but I can still barely see a thing. I went camping in Anglesey once, and that was the most beautiful sky I have ever seen. Shooting stars, satellites, planets, constellations. It was all there and clear. I wish I could see that kind of sky all the time.

I stargaze all the time; I live in the country so it's usually the liveliest thing to do on a Friday/Saturday night. Can anyone else see Alcor behind Mizar in the Big Dipper? I've heard it explained that it's a test of sight if you can, but, as aforementioned, I live in the country so it's rather easy to see they're two (actually six; but the only way humans know that is advanced telescopes that I don't think the average person, including myself, owns so we'll keep it as two) separate objects.
