I'm 5'5''. ^.^ Just enough to be in the club.

I actually wish I was shorter because I think it's cute when girls are short.

I'm 5'6" or 5'7" and at times, I love being this height, and others its just... Facepalm
It's weird for Prom and Homecoming, because my date is only 5'8" so I wore flats for both. But it's nice being tall, too.

    Crazy Yay tall people
Yeah, I'm half Dutch and my mother thinks that's where I get my height from (I'm the tallest in my immediate family by at least three inches). All of my Dutch cousins are really tall
    Cute
I have viking ancestors, hence the height. My whole family is very tall, I'm the youngest and most of my cousins are about 4 inches taller than me. My uncles are also a bit taller, but my mom is a little shorter. I'm the munchkin in my family but the giant in real life. Nyam

I'm 5'7'' I believe. I used to hate it and refused to believe that I was over 5'5''. And I'm taller than most of my friends, but I'm starting to get more comfortable with my height.

I'm 5'9 to 5'10, I'm not sure which anymore. I used to hate it because I was taller than everyone in my class, but now that there are a lot of taller people than me in school now I'm totally fine with being tall.

I am 5'6. Much taller than my mom. I remember being shorter than all my friends then hitting seventh grade and shooting past them all. I liked it.

I actually laughed at this thread. I feel like a giant. I'm 6'3" and I'm 16 as of October 17th. My boyfriend is 6'4"-6'5" ish, but he's only 17 so he's still growing.

    Man I feel huge. O.o

I don't really consider myself tall but others do (mainly people not of the African American race). I don't consider myself that tall because African Americans tend to be really tall. But others do, even my own race (the girls) but black guys like to say I'm short because most of the ones I know, are 6'0 and above. I'm 5'7. But in reality, I know I'm tall for a female.

    @ TheAttackOfRachy!
That's actually really cute. You're going to have tall babies. I want tall children, that's why I want a tall guy. I actually like being tall (although I'm not as tall as you) because you're more noticed and you get a lot of good attention (at least I get good attention about my height) and for some reason, people like to be friends with tall people, from what I've noticed (or extremely short people, like in the 4'10 area, only if they're outspoken though, otherwise they go unnoticed).

It's definitely not all good attention. My family is very tall - over 6' tall - and my mother and aunt have been repeatedly groped travelling through places like Turkey and India, because men assumed that they were men dressed as women, and were checking for male genitalia. (? I know, I know.)

I'm 6'1-2" and the height brings a lot of unnecessary anxiety. e.g. I feel obliged to wear obviously feminine clothing, because I don't want to be mistaken for a guy, but, while I love to wear dresses sometimes, other times I just want to wear jeans and a jacket. And when I do dress up, I feel like I'm in drag. I think I've had one, maybe two, positive interactions based on my height - and dozens of negative ones. I'm sure that would be different if I were model-thin ("oh, those legs go on for miles!" etc) but I'm just kind of average. Proportional, but, because I'm so tall, that means I take up a huge amount of room and people just think of me as 'big'.

Also, though this is half joking, being above everyone's heads means they're looking up your nose/throat - the least flattering angle. Multiple occasions, I've been sitting on the ground or at a table or something when friends approach, so they're looking down at my face as I smile and greet them, and that's the only time I get "Oh Ash, you're adorable" etc.

    Height is intimidating.

Well, that's kind of foolish because I believe anyone can tell whether someone is a woman or a man by their facial features. So unless you have manly facial features, I don't know why people will automatically assume that.

Anyway, where I live, your height would be good attention.

Well, 'you believe'. I don't really know what you mean by 'manly' features but I find that often, without obvious signs like facial hair, adam's apple, etc, faces may often be somewhat androgynous. Gender recognition is a combination of so many things, including voice and hair and makeup and clothes and size and shape - so I acknowledge that, when you have a combination of multiple things, it's often very easy to pick someone's gender - but I don't think facial features are the first thing a stranger notices.

Which, in theory, is not an issue - I don't usually think people talking to me think I'm a guy, perhaps because of 'feminine features' (and voice and so on) but young males are actually the most frequent victims of random violence, such as king hits. I don't know what you're calling foolish; my anxiety over something you haven't personally experienced, or the behaviour of people in another culture, which I do think is inappropriate, but not 'foolish'. Obviously they think they have reason for it.

Eh, clearly I should emigrate, then. -laugh-

    @Ayana.

Aha. Him and I have been together for months now. I have exams at school at the moment and I am super stressed, he couldn't be more supportive! He's the most amazing guy ever!

Yeah, my mum told me that him and I will have tall babies. I was like "really mum?" She's cute but she can be super embarrassing sometimes. I'm considered as a giant where I come from, but I am noticed as a girl. I have really long legs, green/brown eyes and black/brown hair, if it's not my eyes or smile being complimented, I get told (by guys) I have nice legs. I often get told by people that I have a very beautiful face (it is a strange compliment) as I look different to what I do in my photos on here, as they are old :)

But yes, "if" him and I stay together, which I'm hoping we do, we are going to have huge babies. My poor belly will get so stretched! :(

I feel you there, oh man. I'm 6', and it's not that I always feel like I look manly. I know that I don't, but in photos with all my friends I always look bulky in comparison. It's harder to get clothes, especially when you haven't got a lot of money, long haul economy flights are practically impossible, and I already have back problems.

I wouldn't change my height if I could, but I'd change how people treat tall people, and I'd probably make tailor-made-chairs-for-tall-people a thing that everyone could get for free.

I was 13 and 5'10" when the doctor told me I had finally stopped growing. Well I guess he lied because I'm 16 now and I'm 6'1". I'm the tallest girl of all my friends and the tallest girl in my class. Actually if I think about it, I'm the tallest girl I know. I blame my dad for being 6'5". My mom's the shortest in the family at 5'8 1/3" (she always points out the 1/3 so if we don't mention that she gets a bit offended).
There are a lot of things I hate about being tall, like never finding pants that reach past the tops of my ankles but fit around my waist too, and sitting on the bus and having no leg room at all.
It might be just because of my height but I still don't think anything below 5'11" is tall. I think it's just average. Everything below 5'7" is short to me. Probably just my being 6'1" but whateva.

Last I checked I was 178cm which translates to what, 5'7 or 5'8? I'm not the tallest though, and because I'm kinda skinny, people say I'm malnourished. If I was the same dress size and just a couple of inches shorter, I'd be fine. Crappy part about it is that I don't wear heels if I'm going out with a guy who's my height or shorter. My height's perfect for when I'm trying to look over people's heads though - especially in crowds - but I kinda feel bad for those who sit behind me in the cinema, haha.
