There's a machine that converts sea water to pure water. If a canal was dug, greenery would grow and starving people could water their plants and be able to drink safe water. It doesn't convert all of the water, and water that's excreted/wasted/used to water crops, will be picked up and end up back in the sea through rain. Anywho, the rate we're going, "edible" fish will be extinct by about 2046 anyway. I say we... But, that's my opinion and I'll keep it to myself!

Our food-related problems could be solved even more easily if everybody just went vegetarian. Not to mention that it'd help with climate change/pollution too.

^ Coos and sheep and cuddies all generate a crapload - pardon the pun - methane which IS (unlike carbon) cause environmental damage. (I'm right?)

Whilst converting salt water into pure water may seem like an ideal solution, surely wells and keeping what water there is underground is a more important first step at this momento in time. If not all the water was used then it would be better, yes?

I did watch an interesting - and delightfully, laughably hypocritical - documentary about the unseen cost of imported food such as water usage (particularly in "wet crops" such as rice) and oil and stuff and it showed that more homegrown products would reduce the amount needed to grow crops by in countries where water is needed. But on the other hand, it gives them less income.

Tis a dilemma which is why I say we should take the lazy way out and destroy the world.

I believe that if the vet allows your only pet, your baby, your best companion, to die while in their care, they shouldn't charge you for the treatment that obviously failed.

I have none. Which is probably why I'm so corrupt :/

Isn't a philosophy basically a way to live you life 'better'? If so, here's mine.

Laugh in the face of death.
Study not yourself in the looking glass, for a face, and a body is just a curtain, used by people who worry.
Understand that to know a person's heart, you must know what they let you know of them first. Not what they let the world see.

I think that we should stop believing and just start doing. Sitting around coming up with "ways to live your life" has no use unless you actually can follow them. So we should just go on with our own intuition.

i have several beliefs. i'm surprised at how mature they sound sometimes, haha.

a person can't claim to be in love with someone (like a crush. a girl would claim they're 'in love' with the person). i believe that in order for it to be love, feelings must be mutual.

the bible shouldn't be taken word for word, but rather read with love.

Actually, if everyone were vegetarian, then the animals that produce the methane which pollutes our environment would simply reproduce and reproduce and reproduce... And eventually the world would be covered in cows. Now, with there being a good number of people who eat said cows, their numbers get reduced at pretty much the same rate they reproduce, so the number stays constant. In my opinion, the fewer cow farts the better, so it would actually be worse if everyone were vegetarian.

There is the counter-argument that the number of cows and such as reached such crazy rates is due to factory farming. If everyone turned vegeterian, it would stop the farming of many animals and stop companies using up land in order to breed more animals in order to satisfy the needs.

At first, there would be too many. But with constraints on food and natural habitat, this would probably plummet.

i don't believe that anyone is crazy ; i believe the environment they're in distorts their senses of everything.

I believe you should at least try to understand why people are the way they are before judging them, even if you absolutely hate them.

I also believe in being grateful for what you have, because you're lucky you at least have that much. You could have easily been born with much less. You can also die any day, even if you are newborn. You NEVER know what sort of horribly unexpected event is around the corner for you.

Another thing I believe is that "authority" shouldn't completely rule our lives. No matter what, we are entitled our free will. "Authority" is as flawed as the humans who have created and ruled it.

One more thing I also believe is that non-human animals should be treated with the same respect human animals are treated with. They are, after all, breathing, feeling creatures that do share quite a bit of DNA with humans. Humans only believe they have right over them.

This is something that can't be helped so anything that is believed shouldn't be questioned without a good argument because then, this saying is meaningless (then again; this wise saying might have an opposite, no less wise, to balance it in which it makes it true)

I believe that when you are in pain, when you are hurt, when you feel like you are falling, the first step to get you out of there is, to stand up against it, remember what you want- happiness.

We all judge people; whether it ranges from looks, actions, words, and personality- we base people on impressions. Looks make us curious. We talk to them when we are interested by them and we learn more than what we judge. Humanity, all of us, have the ugly characteristic of hypocrisy, lying, and being a little or too much judgmental.

We have good in each of us. We have free will.

And recently, I've learned that laughter can even you out with justice.

If they were left to reproduce.

If everyone goes vegetarian, it won't be overnight. The population of livestock animals would lower very gradually due to a gradual decrease in supply and demand for meat. Maybe some livestock animal species would even die out.

Those who kept farm animals would obviously not let them out in the wild to fend for themselves, since they are domesticated animals. To keep them from crazily over-populating, the people would have to keep separate genders.

Obviously, they wouldn't be bred nearly as much as they are now, even if worldwide vegetarianism occurred overnight, thus the population of livestock would decrease.The ones that are living now would eventually die, possibly breeding but not nearly as much as they would if there were actually a demand for their flesh.

The worldwide consuming of animal flesh actually puts many more livestock animals on this planet at a time, since it keeps the demand for meat up. The demand for it has been increasing pretty steadily.
