I thought seeing as I made a thread for 'biggest movie fails' I might as well make one for movies that you expected to be bad but ended up being really enjoyable. Are there any movies that have shocked you in a positive way?

I know myself I was surprised by 17 again. I expected it to be a pointless Zac Efron movie, but when I went to see it I loved it! I realized he actually is a talented actor, [HSM just doesn't showcase his talent.] anyway, it's now one of my favorite movies.

What movies have shocked you guys?

The Ugly Truth(I thought it'd be funny, but not THAT funny)

Public Enemies(Don't know why, I just didn't expect much, though I'm not a Depp fan so...)

Munich(again, no clue why, but I have no reasoning behind it)

Eastern Promises(I am not a big Viggo fan, with the only movie I enjoyed him in is A History of Violence)

V for Vendetta(I thought it'd be amazing, but.....I mean, dear god, this was freaking epic beyond recognition)

Lastly, from whats coming to mind is In Bruges, I thought it'd just be a stupid predictable movie, which it was, but they executed it so well, which made me like it.

Burn After Reading. I thought it'd just be an action movie with a little bit of comedy, but I didn't expect it to be that funny. I especially didn't expect Brad Pitt to be so ridiculous (in a good way). XD

Seven Pounds. I thought it'd be good, but my lord. Cheese it's one of my favorite movies. It's beautiful. In Love

I haven't read the book, and I'm not the biggest fan of Brad Pitt, so I was expecting him to be all gross and cocky, which he was... but you know... it worked. XD

Well, when 'Without a Paddle' first came out, forever ago, I didn't want to go see it because it really didn't look all that interesting. Needless to say, it's now my favorite movie. Cute

The Mist ended up being better than I expected. Acting wasn't the best, and the ending kind of shocked me, but it was in a good way? I was impressed. Stephen King movies especially (anything made after The Shining, imho) aren't well made.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was also amazing. I was expecting the story to be nice, but I didn't expect it to be that nice. In Love

Despicable Me. (But it shocked me because I'm Pixar-biased and it was still an awesome movie)
