But can't you use the internet on your iPod touch to view Mibba and on your phone, as well?

When I use my friend's iPod, I can do everything on Mibba with that internet browser. Same goes for my blackberry (even though it's a pretty old model). The only thing I can't do, is view my profile comments.
You can't get Wi-Fi everywhere you go, and I usually don't browse the Internet much on my phone when I don't have my charger (it uses up the battery, especially since I'm LITERALLY texting 24/7).
The app wouldn't have to be so complex, though. It could be like, a simpler way to view the forums, comment profiles (as well as journals, stories, etc.), read stories and such... or there could be at least a mobile friendly version of the site? Like, mobile.mibba.com or something and it could be similar to the regular site but less images & such so it loads easier (and faster) on mobile browsers?

^ I don't understand. My cellphone has it's own internet connection, so whether there's a wi-fi connection nearby or not wouldn't matter. And for the iTouch, if you can't get web access you won't be able to use a Mibba app anyway. I just don't understand how no access to wi-fi would be helped by having a Mibba app since you would need the internet to access it anyway.

But other Mibba users can have the iPhone, and with it you have to get the data plan (which includes a 3G network).

Right. And 3G would allow them to access the internet.

Time or effort isn't really an issue. There are programs that can make apps for you for like $20. I've actually looked into this because it would be really handy, but if I designed an app for me it would be different than a general user app because I would have admin options and what not in mine. I also don't know if the app would be available to download from the app store or not.

I've heard of programs that make apps for free, but most of them are only for jailbroken iphones, and seeing as how that's illegal we can't do anything like that with Mibba. I'll keep looking though.

Phone Gap could be a good option.

Right. And 3G would allow them to access the internet.
Sometimes they can't get a good connection.
Or the site takes awhile to load, and (when I get on from my phone) I constantly have to zoom in and wait awhile for the site and such to load.

If a Mibba application can't be developed, then at least a mobile-friendly site would be nice..

According to the site (and many others), you need a Mac OS X system (I think that's what it said, I don't really remember) to develop iPhone/iPod touch applications Disgust

Well let's break down what a mibba app would be. It would simply bring comments, subscription post, messages to an easy to use interface.

This actually isn't as hard as most people are making it sound. All you would need is access to the code of the website (which you have from any PC) and the ability to understand and write code(I don't have this). http://code.google.com/appengine/ Andriod is open source so I recommend any programmers start there. They are also coming out with a much more user friendly. It isn't out yet but I doubt it will be very powerful.

So any programmers out there without a life, preferably someone we could tear away from world of warcraft for a while, spend a good month on this you might be able to sell it on the android market for a reasonable price like $.99

We could just find an enthusist who has an $100 SDK license for iphone apps with apple and ask them to develop one

Maybe the app doesn't have to be so complicated, so to speak. If you made it like Facebook only to show you when someone's replied to your post, wants to add you as a friend, updated something you were subscribed to, etc. If you have your Facebook connected to your phone you get it...
Maybe for the people who want it, this would be a better option?

But it'd be no use to me to have an app because my phone doesn't get them and I don't have access to internet from mine.

This app seems like a very very good idea. It's easier than using the browser.

Mibba does work on my phone (iPhone) but at times, if I have a bad connection to the internet, it takes forever to load. But it still works...I'd definitely use the app. Even if it meant I would probably never be off mibba except when I was sleeping. XD

Though it never allowed me to read stories or articles or anything when I had my BlackBerry Touch for some reason. Think

I was JUST about to post a new topic! I'm on my iPod and I wanted a mibba app. For efficient forums and being able to read the stories/poems etc and even post one!

If you wanna use the website to like update a story or add something else. You should use the computer. I mean i have an iTouch and i have mibba bookmarked on it. It's pretty much the same as having an app for it but it's the actually website. If you want to use the site for something as important as adding writing you should really use a computer. People can get frustrated using iPhones/ iTouchs and Blackberries.

You don't really need a 'Mibba' app.. just a Mibba chat app. I noticed that everything on Mibba worked on my iPod except for chat.

That's not fixable because iPhones don't have flash/java and probably never will.

I know, but we don't have developers to do things like that and make our chat functional without java in an app. If Mibba ever did have an app, it would be one made with a program that takes a website and makes it iPhone friendly, not a custom app we design. That is, unless Dujo justs decides he really wants to make an app for some reason.

What if the people who want the app have to pay for it?
