What if the people who want the app have to pay for it?
I'd most definitely pay for it. XD

If it was officially affiliated with the site, I don't think we'd charge for it. Mibba is a free service so..

There is a YouTube app that comes free with iPods, it let's you view YouTube, as where you normally can't on iPods, and iPads. What sort of programing would an app require to have that built in flash thingy, so to speak? I am on my iPod typing this right now. As I said before, though, it would only need to be chat. I would voluntarily pay to help make it, and to have it.

You can't have an app with built in flash because iPods can't support it, you have to design around that.

You don't need flash to watch videos on youtube anymore, not even on the site.

Honestly I don't support a Mibba ap. My phone doesn't even really get the internet, I've had it for three and a half years and I'm perfectly comfortable with that, but that's just me. However, in my opinion it just seems like too much time and effort for the people creating it because what are the chances they'd get paid for designing it, and also when you think about how many people would actually use it once made would probably be incredibly low. Think If you just wanted to use an app to chat, why not add the mibbians you want to talk to on msn or facebook instead and talk to them from there?

^I'm sure there are plenty of people with an iTouch and iPhones. (I have both. XD)

Some mibbians aren't comfortable with giving out their e-mail & FaceBook information... Actually, there are several Mibbians (and I'm sure there thousands more in the online world.) who have created an alias and don't even give out their real name, yet, they've had friends online for years. XD

I would love for their to be a Mibba app.
But in all honesty it doesn't matter to me, I can simply go on mibba on my android through the internet and it works perfectly well.

I must say the fact that i can't find an app that allows me to quickly access mibba on my i pod which as i am on the run and do not particularly like the trouble the web browser puts you through i have been looking for another site that has such app.

Even if you charged $0.99 for the apps you could use it for more development because it does cost about $100 to be a ipod/iphone programer

If you fiddle with your IPods a bit you can make an app that sends you
To the Mibba page. I don't know exactly how though.

^You hit the + button in safari and "add to home screen". It's not a proper app though, just a shortcut to the page.

And even then you're still using the regular site. ;p

I'm on from my phone right now, and having to zoom in and crap is starting to get on my nerves >__< especially when I keep accidentally hitting random links whilst zooming in/scrolling down. D:

Well, I like this idea. But if there was an app to be created, the person who uses it would need internet access on their phone. And most of the time, when a phone has internet access, it already has some browser the user can open...and then they can just go to mibba on there..... So, in some sense, isn't really a moot point?

This is a great idea. I'm always using Mibba on my phone, but it's annoying to navigate on my iPhone.
I really hope this idea goes forward.

I agree that it sounds like a good idea, until you actually think about it.

Yes a lot of people may have a device that supports apps, but 95% of the time those devices also can connect to the internet. I use my Ipod touch all the time for my mibba account when I'm somewhere and can't get to my laptop. If you just go into your search engine (like apple uses safari) and type in mibba, you get the full website like you would using a computer.

Creating an app for a website that you can access otherwise to either read articles/blogs/stories or to update/write would be a waste of time and money. No one would use the app in my opinion when they could just use their search engine anyways. An app like that would be like the Facebook app and have to use internet anyways.

We're making a mobile version of the site, not an app per say, so it will work for androids.

So, it will be available for Androids, as well as Apple products? I have an iPad.

For those who could get the app, I think it would be great. I know that when I want to read a story on Mibba on my iPhone I have to go through this stupid new layout and it's really annoying to do. I would gladly pay for an app.
But then again, it might not get popularity with the app, only a certain number of people come on here (I'm going to assume around 5000) so that might not be a big enough market to bother with an app for smartphones and such.
It is a great idea though, in my opinion.
