Awesome. Thanks Rachel (I'm assuming that's your name...). Yeah, I've had a lot of trouble finding group roleplays, and keeping mine a float to other people get a chance to see them. The Closed RP's are a little overwhelming.

I'm not quite sure if I want him to move the RP boards... not to boards. What else would it be?

I believe it's because a lot of people have gotten annoyed by a lot of people that don't follow the rules or don't have very good spelling/grammar/ etc. etc. Also, I've noticed that a lot of them don't want new people to join their RP's because they don't really know what to do. There's a lot of reasons why they're taking over.

Who would you suggest I went to in order to have a thread deleted? I'm not really sure who the most active members of staff are. :/
Just hit Report on the main post and ask for it to be deleted. This usually works for me.

Adding on to everyone else, all these closed RP's are quite annoying. In my opinion it is much more fun when you have more people. It's a bit predictable and boring with just two people. I come on the RP thread all the time now, hoping that some slight chance there might be an open RP but that doesn't seem likely. XD

I totally agree with you, I'm getting quite tired of them sometimes myself.
The whole problem is that people join and then just ditch. Like, the moment it starts, some few pages in, people leave and no matter how many times they are warned they say they will come back on, but they don't. Even if they had read the rules and did whatever it was needed to prove it. This leaves people who do RP (like me) and wish for it to continue, stranded, for there is nobody but one or two people who else wish the same to RP with, and it just simply turns to being a half-closed RP - where it's between the two/three and yet everyone else can still add in.
I'd be making Open RPs all the time, but I don't want to get repetitive, taking up ideas of RPs that had died, for once in a few times, I'll run out of ideas. It's just silly, silly to having to keep making up ideas, spending hours finding ones on the internet, and that just after a few pages, the RP dies anyway.
I think a few people feel this way too. Just saying. It's really annoying and sad.
I think that there should be two categories, one for Open RPs and one for Closed.
I heard it was coming in the new Mibba, so I'm waiting eagerly and hoping that comes soon.... Cute

This is what I brought up before. Now, I am kind of obsessed with closed roleplays, but I love group ones too. There are pros and cons to both. I dislike how quickly group ones move, because I have a job and school. But I love how someone is usually on, you know? But if anyone wants to start up some good old open roleplays I have about fifty billion ideas.

Yeah, that can be a problem too, what you said.
But what I meant for the two different categories is just that, a new Open RP doesn't survive in the so many closed ones. It just gets shoved to the second page, from there to the third, and it ends up dying. That's just what I kind of meant. It doesn't get a chance if you know what I mean. :)
And okay, I'll message you about that. tehe

I think the main problem here is that people just drop their open RPs. I know, I know, I'm in a ton of closed ones, and I don't have much room to speak here, but in open RPs the freedom is lost in a shit ton of rules and people go from bursts of posting, to rare posting, to no posts at all. I love open RPs and would honestly like to see more of them, but they keep falling, and it's not because of the closed RPs, it's because of the people that don't post on the open ones. It's not because of the cluster of closed RPs (which I am part of and initially apologized for) but because that people stop posting, choose to stop posting, or forget about posting, and other characters can't do much without them so they, like the other, stop posting. The problem doesn't lie with the closed RPs alone, it lies with the roleplayers of both open and closed RPs. I'm trying to speak for all of us when I say that it's not just our fault. Please don't jump down my throat on this one, I've been tired of being ashamed to click on my RPs after reading all of this and decided to take action. I'm done now~

I know what you mean, and in a way that is kind of what I wanted to say. You see, I'm all over the place.
And like you, I'm in a few Closed RPs too, but that's mainly because like you said, others stopped posting in the Open RPs so I have nothing to do.
It also links in with the 'limit of so and so characters' because if you can only have two people, and those two don't post that you were RPing with, then you don't post either.... And then it just dies. Think

Ahhh thank you, I swear I thought you would have jumped at me because of that. It also has to do with the outrageous rules that some people post, like having BIOs that have: fill in something here (if you read the insanely long, repetitive, obnoxious and limiting rules, you would know). Limiting an RP is like limiting imagination, and that's why most people are turning to closed RPs instead.
Guess what I'm trying to say is that having two sections for RPs, closed and open and all, is kinda stupid. If you're upset with the number of closed RPs then deal with it, keep trutting on and make your open ones, someone will post. It doesn't have to be a lot of people, as long as we know that there are still places to get into it then we will. It's either that, or find someplace else to roleplay. I know I've certainly gone to PMing roleplays after this discussion of open vs. closed started, and the new format of messaging makes it a lot easier.

They do have insanely long rules for a reason, though. Usually, those rules are to help the RP from dying. I find that the more rules there are, (or seem to be) the more professional it looks.

As for closed RPs...I am severely guilty of not posting on them. They're like my stories. I get an idea, find someone to RP with, then get another idea and move on, forgetting about the first.

I know, it's really terrible, and I mean nothing against those I RP with. I try really hard to post on all of my RPs, but I find it hard to remember them all simply because I've overloaded myself with so many.

I really do think we should stop complaining about closed RPs, though. Sometimes it's just a personal preference.

Ugh, I hadn't meant to jump in on this.XD I'm just really bored at graduation. Oh and Jordan? Arms I'm going to assume I missed our RP and go find it now.XD

Forgetting about them is something that's almost always been a problem, to be fair. It's not just now because of the closed RPs. I'll agree it's annoying, but there's hardly any good open ones any longer, and that's a definite problem.

Usually the reason why people put insanely long rules is because they don't want new people, or people with bad grammar and spelling, and people who don't know how to follow the rules joining. It get's annoying when people constantly use chat speak, and don't spell things right. That's why the make closed RP's with people they like RPing with and know they can do a good job on grammar, and spelling.

I completely agree with this. Personally, I would love to see more open roleplays. Like I've stated, I have unlimited ideas for open roleplays. And my problem with them is I have a restricted schedule that people can't always work with. So when I'm on, I may be the only person on. Which is no fun. And, I constantly forget. I wonder if I made a ton of roleplays, if any of you who was pro-open roleplays would join, assuming the stories are worth it.

You simply report a post in it and say simply that the RP kind of died and you want it deleted. It'll then be locked & deleted. Cute
