- The Brightside.:
- Aichmophobia (fear of needles)
Like MyNameIsBob said, it's not the pain... it's the thought of that long thin stick of metal sliding through my flesh. Can't stand watching it, thinking about it, imagining the feeling...
Thats pretty much I what I have. I've seen it on T.V. and I absolutely can't stand needles. I get the shivers and I have to look away. Once my mother had to hold me still while the doctor gave me a few shots and that is usually acceptable for a child, but that happened when I was 12. Its horrible, but when I got my flu shot I worked VERY hard to just look away. It might going to effect me in the future since I would like to be a medical doctor when I get older.
Snakephobia - the fear snakes.
I can't stand how snakes move. For some reason my brain just screams that its unnatural to me for some odd reason. I can't touch them. I can't look at them. I'm even scared of garden snakes, even though I've been told several times that they won't hurt me. My cousin tried to get me to hold a small garden snake and I screamed and ran away, hiding behind my mom, sobbing my eyes out. Its very hard for me to watch any snakes on the television without shivering, but its not quite as bad as seeing an actual snake.
I used to also have hydrophobia (fear of water.) it was so bad that I couldn't take a bath without flailing my arms and legs around and screaming, but it got better with age.
