One of the most amazing Marvel creations being made into a movie for 2012. [Date been named as May 4th for UK residents].

I've heard the plot involves Nick Fury temaing up with Tony Stark, Thor and Steve Rogers to battle against The Hulk. But its early days and Edward Norton hasn't confirmed if he'll be playing The Hulk, so that could be flase.

And I know its like ages to wait and all but I'm really excited. And I think we need a thread for it

Edward Norton stated in an interview with MTV that he would like to appear in The Avengers and that he would be happy to see The Hulk as the villain.[10] Lou Ferrigno, who voiced Hulk in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, stated that he would be involved in the film.[11]

In October 2009 Favreau confirmed to MTV that he will not be directing The Avengers. He also commented on the difficulty of directing such a film stating; "It's going to be hard, because I was so involved in creating the world of Iron Man and Iron Man 2 is very much a tech-based hero, and then with 'Avengers' you're going to be introducing some supernatural aspects because of Thor... How you mix the two of those works very well in the comic books, but it's going to take a lot of thoughtfulness to make that all work and not blow the reality that we've created."[12]

In a January 26, 2010 interview with SFX, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was asked will it be difficult to meld the fantasy of Thor with the high-tech science fiction of Iron Man in The Avengers. He answered; "No, because we're doing the Jack Kirby/Stan Lee/Walt Simonson/J. Michael Straczynski 'Thor.' We're not doing the blow-the-dust-off-of-the-old-Norse-book-in-your-library 'Thor.' And in the 'Thor' of the Marvel Universe, there's a race called the Asgardians. And we're linked through this Tree of Life that we're unaware of. It's real science, but we don't know about it yet. The 'Thor' movie is about teaching people that". Feige also confirmed that the Hulk would appear in the film.[13]

I cannot wait for this movie, although I'm a bit disappointed that they changed actors for the Hulk AGAIN and I kinda feel like they need to make a movie for Hawkeye. Overall, I'm just excited to something with Tony Stark in it. He has to be my favorite Marvel super hero outside the X-Men.

Hulk actors seem to have the worst luck convincing Stan Lee and the Marvel Studios casting people to let them keep the role

The Hulk... ugh I'm hoping he's in this movie and then they replace him with Spider-Man for The Avengers 2 & 3.

Except.....that's not actually true Chris. In Earth-3490 Tony Stark was born a woman and the civil war never happened because she was romantically involved with Steve. I think they got married.

I just want Loki to yell "I DO WHAT I WANT THOR" at opportune moments is that too much to ask for.
