I absolutely love this. I have tears in my eyes. The power and emotion in this strikes close to home for me, and I'm assuming for you too. I love how often little girl is repeated. To me it almost seems as if you're telling your younger self all of this. The fact that there isn't any false notions in this makes me happy, because the temptation may never leave, and you do have to be strong. Even the part about there being nothing to be faithful about, I honestly think that's the part that digs me the deepest. The very end though, that gives me hope, because clearly you've gotten through it and you know, which is something that doesn't get put across sometimes. This is a wonderful piece and I praise you for it.

Something is so extremely powerful about that first line that I can't seem to grasp it - it's deep, and it raises a lot of good questions about all relationships, romantic or otherwise. + Picking up on hidden or subtle meanings in things isn't my strongest talent but this really strikes me as a simple - poetic ha ha not punny - poem about the unification (or lack thereof) made during sex. The second line is what made that idea stand out, especially when tied with the third, but it was written so eloquently that I had to re-read it a few times.

And I really like how you've gotten a tightly knit brick wall in the back - definitely something made for war. Very splendid job - I hope my words haven't destroyed the beauty of yours.

This is definitely really strong, as the others have said. I feel like in the current political climate across the globe, this is also more important than ever. I see a lot of people from the US online complaining about how the 'immigrants' are taking over their country, yet they all seem to forget what their ancestors did to Native people. It's unreal, and I feel like you say that far more eloquently here than I can ever begin to try to do. It's clear it's something you care about because each and every stanza is dripped in emotion, and it just makes it all that more impactful. This is a message that we need to get out to the world. This is what people need to remember before opening their mouths. Stunning poem. I would usually rip into syllable count and structure at this point in a poem comment, but I have nothing. There's literally nothing I can comment negatively on. This is such a well-rounded poem with a really strong message and honestly, I adore this. Fantastic job.
