You Know You Are Old When...

When you can legally rent a car without the 'underage driver' fee that disappears at twenty-five.

When you have been out of high school longer than you were in it.

When the shows you watched as a preteen are on Nick at Nite.

When the Disney Renaissance was your childhood.

When you know how to put tapes into the VCR.

When you still have recordable tapes that you have old episodes of the Mickey Mouse Club (Justin Timberlake and B. Spears!) on.

When you have boxes and boxes and bags and bags of CDs, tapes and cassettes from when you were younger, but nothing to play them on.

You know when you are old when:

- you saw the "evolution" of the VHR (from tape to VCD to DVD to Blu-Ray)
- you knew computers were once this big, bulky white boxes with black screens and tiny green letters
- you were bringing discman to school and got frustrated as the CD keeps 'skipping'
- boybands such as Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, N SYNC, Westlife were your life
- every girl wanted to be a 'Spice Girl'
- furbys were a rage back then (and bloody expensive as well)
- you have no idea how to work the internet when it was firstly launched
- you have to stand by the radio to record your favourite song when it's being played
- listening to Eminem made you a part of the "cool" kids
- you're deprived of sleep almost every day

And the list goes on. I had a laugh and kept nodding my head while going through this thread

You know when you're old when....
You were introduced to anime through Dragonball Z, Pokemon, Card Captors, GUndam Wing, or Sailor Moon
When you watched Dragonball Z and Sailor Moon on Toonami and Pokemon on CW back when it was WB.
CW was called the WB.
You collected Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh cards.
You played Pokemon Red, Blue, or Yellow on the Game boy or Game Boy Color.
You played Super Mario on the Super Nintendo
Restaurants like KFC had those Pokemon plushies
You watched Pokemon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back and literally cried at the scene where Pikachu and all those Pokemon are crying over Ash's "death"
You used to trade and battle Pokemon or YuGiOh cards with your friends
You watched The Lion King and cried over Mufasa's death
Aladdin became the first Disney movie to get its own sequel.

You know you're old when you had to record a TV show on a blank VHS at the time it was on to watch it later.

You know you are old when you go onto the Cartoon Network game site to play and they don't even have your age number listed.
And they have also got rid of all the cool dexter games. wtf man.

You know you're old when you find some of your old kid clothes that make you say 'dear lord...'

You know you're old when you can remember decent kids shows.

You know you're old when you remember George of the Jungle - The brendan fraser version.

You get your younger sibilngs interested in watching the animes you liked as a kid
You remember Pokemon and Yugioh stuff were banned in schools.
You remember when the first Harry Potter book came out
You can name all original 151 Pokemon
You sing the original Pokemon theme song instead of whatever they have for all the seasons for it.
You collected Pokemon cards as a kid and now passed them onto your younger siblings
Your younger siblings or cousins sees your game boy color or game boy advance and ask you what the hell it is and if they can play it.
You look at Super Mario 64 DS and remember playing the original version on the Nintendo 64.
You buy the remakes of all your favorite games from your childhood

-You find an old fanfic/story from when you first started writing fanfiction/stories
-When you used to watch Pokemon and Yugioh religiously after school
-When you remember Disney XD was once called Toon Disney
-When Fox had a Saturday morning line up called Fox Kids, which then became the Fox Box, and then became 4Kids and then became Cw4Kids and then just merged with CW altogether.
-You watch CW on saturdays and see shows like Sonic X playing on there.
-When you chose Tails over Sonic while playing the DS remakes of Sonic the Hedgehog
-When you watch the 2012 TMNT, you hear Donnie's voice and fondly remember that his voice actor was the Raphael from the 80s TMNT cartoon
-When you're watching Teen Titans Go and constantly comparing it to the 2003 Teen Titans series.
-You turn it to Disney XD, Nickelodeon, or Cartoon Network and don't know what any of the shows are anymore.
-When you watch a remake of old cartoons and constantly compare the remakes with the originals (2011 Thundercats Vs 1980s Thundercats, 2012 TMNT vs 2003 TMNT vs 90's TMNT vs 80's Turtles)
-When you're amazed that Spongebob Squarepants, Fairly Oddparents, Power Rangers, and The Simpsons are still on the air with new episodes how many episodes are these shows going for now and how many times are they gonna add a new sequel to Power Rangers
-When you compare one of your younger siblings' cartoons to your own favorite cartoons and come to the conclusion that despite the pretty animation of their favorite cartoons, yours is dominates
-When you watch the Christmas specials on ABC Family every year without breaking your childhood tradition seriously, it's been my tradition to watch When Santa Comes to Town, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, the original Frosty the Snowman, and The Life and Times of Saint Nicholas, and The Year Without Santa. That is my Christmas childhood
-When you still watch Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer and still find amusement and enjoyment in it.
-When you see Kenan Thompson in Fat Albert (the movie) and remember him, Josh Peck, Drake Bell, Amanda Bynes, and Kel were all on All That and The Amanda Bynes Show.
-When you see all your favorite Teen Stars and Child Actors from your childhood and remember what shows they used to play on.

You know you're old when someone asks you what like to watch and you list a bunch of your favorite childhood shows.

- It's no longer appropriate to dress up in costume daily, even though you want to.
- You've watched the entirety of Everybody Loves Raymond more times than you can count
- You remember when Naruto was just starting out, rather than ending.
- The original Hulk movie had badass graphics.
- The huge bed you had as a 7-year-old is now tiny, despite it being a queen size.
- You remember playing the Spyro games as they came out.
- You remember when house phones were still in existence.

You know you’re old when your “current” playlist has songs that are five years outdated.

You know you're old when:
- any drinking involves a horrendous hangover the next morning
- your friends all have careers like police officers, nurses, lecturers and travel consultants
- kitchen conversations at house parties end up going onto the topic of careers
- you have friends you haven't seen for years because you're on opposite work shifts

You know you're old when kids you teach don't know Single Ladies by Beyonce
