Lock if dup, please. I went through the forum and couldn't recognise anything similar, but please tell me if there is. Cute
Do you write the same genre, rating and type of fiction that you read? Or do you prefer to write and read two completely different things?

I know that I tend to write PG-13 and below, but read PG-13 and above. I also read a lot of high school/mall AUs, but tend to stay away from AUs in writing.

I do read the same pairings that I write, though.

i write way more femmeslash than i read because in fic, girls are hardly ever characterised properly.
but in panic fandom, it's safe to say i write what i read.

I like to write what I read. I reread what I write. What I write is inspired by what I read. Although I do read things that I don't write on occassion, like genderswap for instance.

For some reason, I don't really read originals. Not because I don't like them, but with the exception of a few, I haven't found any I really want to invest myself in. The same thing goes for The Used fanficiton. I love writing my The Used fanfic, but I have yet to find any The Used fanfiction that are worth reading, except from devil's trap. I need Moar.

I would say that I tend to write basically what I read. When I write, I tend to think about a story that I want to read but haven`t found yet. There`s a quote about that somewhere.

In the sense that I write fiction, yeah, I write what I read. However, I read mostly novels, but I write short stories. And as much as I may try to imitate my favorites, I'll probably always find myself envious of the creativity of my favorite authors.

I try to. I write what I'm interested in, so I do look for stories that have similar aspects - genre, pairings, POV and even style - but I don't find a lot of stories that I can get into anymore.

I write in the same fandoms that I read in, and sometimes I write kinks that I enjoy reading, things like genderswap and all that.

I'm a lot more openminded as to what I read. I'll read just about anything at least once. I think I'm that way because the fandoms that I write aren't written about as much, especially The Office. Big Time Rush is written about a lot, but rarely well-written.

On Mibba, I mostly read original fiction, but I write only fanfiction. I'll only read fanfiction by specific authors. Same goes for slash and mpreg. I don't write either of those, but there's a couple writers that can really pull it off, and I'll read it.

Sometimes I write what I read, because I can't help but be inspired by what I've read and tend to write something almost kind of akin to it.

I don't really read a lot of fanfiction anymore.... honestly, as bad as this may sound, I don't read a lot on Mibba anymore. Not because it's bad or not well written or anything , I just barely have time to read my books from the library. XD

I actually don't write what I read a lot of the time. I read a lot of historical romances, and supernatural thrillers, but I don't write a lot of them. I've written a few historical romances, but never a supernatural thriller. I draw more inspiration from music then books/stories.

I'd say I write what I read Think, unless it's something really weird and out there, then I probably wouldn't write it.

Hmm...I guess as far as fanfiction goes, I hardley ever read what I write, mainly because what I mostly find is totally outrageous and not worth it (Harry finds out he is actually Voldemort's son, and has been arranged to marry Hermione! How will Draco react? ect...I've seen worse lol)

I don't like reading things that don't offer a hint of humor in them. Likewise, I don't write stuff that doesn't make me smile.

I end up writing a story a lot of the time because I can't find it to read. Like, I'd really like to read it. It requires less stress on my part, but then I can't find one so I write it.

I'm mostly willing to read what I write and vice versa. My problem is I can't find anything in the fandoms I write in that I really like reading. That's part of the reason I started writing fanfiction again; it's like if I want good fic I'll just have to do it myself or something. Also sometimes I read fandoms that I wouldn't necessarily write like I read a lot of Panic! at the Disco, but don't write much, and, of course, sometimes I read slash (only if it is really really good, and even then only certain pairings), but I would pretty much never write it.

Heh... I guess I do write basically the same stuff I read... original fictions PG13+...
It's just that fanfictions are usually so unoriginal.
I mean, everyone's thought of how hax it would be if Frank Iero would go all starry eyed for them at a concert and viola, you're living happily ever after making babies with that sexy beast for the rest of your life...
I do make an exception for Harry Potter fanfictions, though.

I like serial killers and heavy drug problems and war stories and stuff like that, but I know that I don't have the ability/capacity to write that, so I don't. :\

I'm pretty open minded when it comes to reading more genres than I actually write.
