Heh... I guess I do write basically the same stuff I read... original fictions PG13+...
It's just that fanfictions are usually so unoriginal.
I mean, everyone's thought of how hax it would be if Frank Iero would go all starry eyed for them at a concert and viola, you're living happily ever after making babies with that sexy beast for the rest of your life...
I do make an exception for Harry Potter fanfictions, though.
    Draco + Ginny = <333
Well, that's a bit of an unfair generalization. Bandfic isn't all stupid stories about having Iero's babies and such, and for your counter-example neither is all Harry Potter going to be just brilliant and your favorite pairing. There are lots of perfectly capable (hell some are just plain brilliant) authors out there that have produced some pretty great writing in the form of fanfiction. You don't have to love it, prefer it, whatever, what have you, but please don't write it off as a genre so easily.

    ^ Totally agreed.

The things I write about are things I'm interested in, so it's only natural for me to read the same things I write about. Most my stories contain heavy drug use, slash, and things of that nature. So that's typically what I read. Although, I do remain open minded about reading any genre. Cute

As long as it's not mpreg. I honestly have no idea why, but I cannot read mpreg. Unsure

Me too for the most part and that's how I feel about slash in certain fandoms. If I read it I have problems taking it seriously.

Recently I haven't because I've been writing superhero based things and the pairings I like are often not written about because others are more popular.

Like, I love a bit of Steve Rogers/ Tony Stark or Bratman/ Nightwing but I can only ever find Rogers/ Hawkeye or Pepperony or Batman/ Joker so its hard to write what I'd choose to read. Cause its Hard to find, at least, stuff of good quality.

The only one that I do read and write is Holmes/Watson XD

I read a lot of books, but I prefer to write about what interests me the most out of all the genres I've read, though I usually turn it into some form of fan fiction. I read the book Lolita for example, and I used one of the main ideas in that to create my own story which I think turned out as a fairly original fan fic :')

Sometimes I write what I read and other times I come up with something out of thin air.

Just depends on my mood I suppose.

    I do, usually.
I stick within the All Time Low/Kids In Glass Houses fandoms for both reading and writing, but I read Forever The Sickest Kids stuff and don't write it.
I read stuff like mpreg and student/teacher but I don't write it because it's not something that I get ideas for often.
I don't usually read or write fics with many/significant girl characters because they're very rarely pulled off well.

What I read has a huge impact on what I write. What I write tends to change as to what books I'm into at the time. Its the same with heaps of things though, such as TV and movies too.

Most of the time I write what I want to read but haven't found, atleast in fanfictions. In original stories I just write whatever I feel like writting XD

^ I'm the same. I only write things that I've never really seen before, but I tend to read the kind of things I hope to be able to write some day.

I do, for the most part. A lot of books I read influence the way I write. I stick to vampires and werewolves and my occassional angels, but for the most part its all fantasy fiction, and/or original fiction. Widely, every book I read is a romance. Every story I write is a romance, with whatever pitch in there to add a little flavor.

Online, I tend to read original fiction only. I don't like the vampire stories online, and there aren't any good werewolve stories on here, so I just read really original romances, and that usually influences how I write my romances. I don't read fanfiction, and I don't write it. I guess it's safe to say I read what I write.

    I write what I read.
I read femslash so I'm kinda writing one.
Kind of because it has straight sex too. I haven't written it yet, but it will.

But I don't write about vampires. I tried to write a Jacob Black fanfic but it was too hard.

I write what I'd like to read.
    I hardly read anything anymore.
On some occasions when I do, I prefer original fiction over fan-fiction (because most of those I stumbled upon are the same, almost as if the same person wrote them) or the writing of the people I know to write good, no matter what genre or type of story.

I write what I read. - Horror, tragedy etc.
And I don't write what I don't like to read. - Fanfic etc.
    Though I'm still a hypocrite.

As of late, I've been writing more of what I'd want to read but just can't find, just because it seems like every time I have the urge to read about a certain topic, certain celeb, or certain pairing, there's nothing that fits that.

Most of what I read online is Big Time Rush slash and femmeslash on lj, neither of which I write because I typically write het. I also tend to read more angsty fics, but I don't like to write angst at all.

Ever since I started reading historical fiction, that's all I've written. I love writing it and reading it, and I doubt I'll stop reading and writing it. Cute
