What's Your Name? Do You Like It?

  • Ilmr:
Mines Tamara. I thought it was fiiine until I had teachers that pronounced it in different ways. Found that irritating, and now I just dont like it anymore. Simple as that.
Aha, so you have the same problem with people mispronouncing it, eh? I feel for you.

  • My name is Jamie. It's a common name tbh.

  • Keith Richards. My last name is Richards and my mother wanted to name me Keith so my name would be like that guy from Rolling Stones. But my middle names are these long Finnish names and they really make no since what's so ever.

  • My name is Monica. I was supposed to be called Monique which is French for Monica but my dad didn't know how to spell it lol I like it but every one of my siblings starts with the letter M so it gets annoying. Especially if you have a twin we have names like m&m all the time or our names get mix up. Since I'm faternal twin we look nothing alike so we get frustrated.

  • Johan ._. ( Joe and then han like hand)
I prefer Johanna, though, because it sounds more feminine

  • My name's Carrie. Honestly doesn't bother me too much until people start associating my name with the Stephen King novel and film adaptation. mrgun

My mum named me after her grandmother whom she was very close to in her childhood. My great-grandmother died about two years before I had been born.

  • My name is Devyn. I used to hate my name when I was little because it was a boy's name and teachers and substitutes would always look for a guy( that still happens even though I'm in college!) But now that I am older and I've learned to live with it and I love it now.

  • Mariana Facepalm
It's such a common name. I don't like it that much, but it's not like I can change it xD

  • @ Soy un Dorito!
Mariana is a common name? No one around me has that name. COME TO AUSTRALIA and then it'll be uncommon!

Alex, ily my name. It's short and simple. I used to hate Alexandra, but eh now I'm not minding it so much. It's kind of pretty. But Alexandra doesn't really suit me - Alex is so much better.

  • @ grow a pair
In some European countries, it's so common. Here, Spain, Italy... Then there's other versions, like Marianna or Marianne xp

  • My name is Brittany, which is fine, but it is so very common. I remember in first grade I was in class with four other Brittany/Brittneys. I was called Brittany 3, just going down the hall was blah, "HEY BRITTANY!" "ME!?!" "No. :l" grr

But, writing it looks pretty. It's my middle name I can't stand though, Dawn. It looks pretty but do you live in the south? My middle name is not DON, people. Grr

  • My name is Jackson. I hate nicknames and prefer only Jackson.

  • My name is Morgan. I don't like it at all, it's really plain. I would have wanted a much prettier name like Lydia or Tatiana or Lacey. And plus it sounds weird 'Morgan'. Sometimes people spell it with an 'e' instead of an 'a'. But yeah, I'm thinking of changing it when I'm older...or maybe not I don't know....

  • My name's Marianne.
I like it, really. It seems elegant in English, I suppose. I just don't like it when people try to shorten it. For some reason people have a hard time pronouncing though? I don't know.

  • Mine's Sara. (omg surprising?)

I've never minded it. It's way too common for my liking. If I ever get assed, I might legally change the spelling to Cera, but til then I'll stick with Sara, at least it's better than Sarah.

    Also, what the hell Australians. Stop giving me a complex when you ask me how I pronounce it. It's been Say-rah all my life. Stop asking if it's Say-rah or Sarr-ah. ;_;

  • Ugh, mine is Megan. It's so very common it sickens me. But in my old school there is like only one or two Megan's, and both of those don't spell it that way. My great-grandmother named me after her favorite soap opera.

It's pronounced MEG-IN, but people call me MEE-GAN. Don't know why. My last name and middle are are very uncommon and hardly anyone gets them right. My name was supposed to be Mercedes...I want that name.

  • My name was originally Georgia, which I have grown to love, as many have adopted my English teacher's way of saying it and now call me Georgiana.
I am having my name legally changed to Devyn or Devin (haven't decided on spelling), as it is a asexual name, and I am Bigender, so I can switch seamlessly between male and female.

  • Mine's Juliet and I get a lot is it my real name? Well yes, yes it is:) I love it and it's quiet fits my personality!! I go by nicknames Jules, Julia, and Jays... So yes I do love my name:)

  • My name is Megan and I like my name, mostly because I can't think of anything else that would suit me.

  • My name is Kathryn. I don't mind my name, probably because I only know one other person who has the same name as me. Most people spell my name wrong, since it's not the most common way to spell it, but that's okay.

I don't really like nicknames; people have tried to call me Kathy, which doesn't work for me at all; Katie, which also doesn't fit me; and Kat, which for some reason I just dislike a lot. My best friend calls me Kat, though, and I've gotten used to it because I like her. She also calls me Kitten, because she knows I don't like Kat... yeah.
