I would finally like to put this down in writing somewhere so people don't have to ask.
My birth name is Jon (
not short for anything). My mother preferred the name Jack, a 'pet form' of the name Jon, which I assume she also believed was 'cuter', so everyone calls me Jack. However, my middle name is Steven(?!)
Therefore, I introduce myself as Jack, and I like this name a lot more than Jon (no 'h' as you can see), which I have come to dislike due to meeting other 'Jons' that gave the name bad press.
Unfortunately, after about 5 minutes with anyone new, conversation descends into addressing me as every name under the sun beginning with 'J' - Jon Jack Jackie Jacqueline Jackanory Jacharias... the list goes on and on!!
Anyone else have their first names replaced in such odd fashion?
