LGBT Members?

Hi guys, I'm Brenda.(: I'm 16 and I live in California. And I'm also a lesbian. I'm not completely out but I'm definitely proud. My community is accepting with the exceptions of few people who seem to try to justify their homophobia with the law or biblical references. I have a General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and was bullied in middle school, making it hard to express opinions or confidence. It took me a good 4 years of hiding before being true to myself and all i can say is that the fight was worth it. I can look for my partner in peace now; not everyone has to know, it's family and close friends that count. Good luck to everyone out there ! Hello, I'm Muse! I don't really like the term bisexual, and prefer to identify myself as queer. I'm a little girl crazy, haha. As I live in a big city, and a state where gay marriage is legal, everyone is pretty supportive here! It's never been a really big deal or anything to feel uncomfortable about. Although, I do find that people who are straight have a hard time understanding the queer lifestyle. If I date a man I must be straight, and if I date a woman I must be a lesbian. It's so frustrating.

I also dislike the term bisexual. If people ask me what my sexual orientation is, I tell them I like people. Although I definitely prefer girls, even though I'm in a long-term relationship with a man. He's basically "turned me" straight, though. Seeing as I have no interest in anyone else anymore. But still, I understand the distaste for the term bisexual, because like you said, many people have trouble understanding it. And I find that there's a lot of stigma that's been put on the word, such as the common myth that bisexuals are either straight or gay, and just confused. Or that they're just big whores. But I beg to differ, and I think that bisexuality is a perfectly common, perfectly un-whorish trait to have. So, that's my spiel.

Anyway, I'm Rae. I think I might have posted on this thread before, years ago when I didn't quite understand myself. But even then I knew. Anyone else been queer all their life? Or I should say, known you were queer. Because personally I believe I was born that way. Why else would I be crushing on Disney Princesses in Kindergarten?

Hey! I'm Chelsey and I am from Texas. I'm 17 (18 in October). I am Asexual Panromantic (Yeah I know its a long "label") which for people who don't know what I mean means I'm not sexually attracted to anyone but I'm ok with a romantic relationship with whomever no matter gender. The only people who know is my mom and my best friend. Others in my family wouldn't except it and to my other friends I was always the boy crazy one who changed crushes often. So I don't really want to tell them cause I know I will get "How do you know, you have never been in a relationship" or "That's not real" or "You just haven't found the right person". However if someone asked I would tell them the truth.

Hi everyone, I'm Mercy :) I'm 17 and bisexual. I live in a small town, and 98% of the people here are convinced I'm going to the deepest circle of hell. I never really hid the fact that I like both girls and boys, and in my high school I was bullies a hell of a lot for it. Posters on my locker telling me to kill myself, things thrown at me, passerby in the halls calling me a fag and such. I ended up pulling out and going online because my mom found out about the bullying when she came to my school for a friend's musical and saw what was going on. There is nothing in my town like GSA, quite the opposite. There are active campaigns by the main church in town to 'save the souls of misguided youth' and I'm asked to come every year. Sorry, can't come, too busy not giving a damn about what anyone thinks.

It's super cool to see another asexual on this website. I don't know what my romantic orientation is either, but I have guessed that I am aromantic due to backing out of any opportunity for a relationship to go further. Might be a symptom of dissociation though. I can be attracted to either gender, but I don't think that is anything more than aesthetic. I think I developed an unrequited platonic love for a best friend, though.

Nice to meet you, and sorry for the late reply! I can get obsessed with people (both boys and girls) but I'm not sure if that attraction is romantic or not, or if I want a romantic relationship. I currently identify as quoiromantic.
