Realistic mothers and fathers. Ones with babies who are fussy, and who agonize over decisions and have tough pregnancies and breastfeed... parents like that. XD

I love characters that have a quirk or a habit or an annoying habit. And there's really no reason for it. Almost an OCD thing.

    . . . I also love OCD characters. XD
    This. So much In Love
I like the bad characters that you can understand WHY they're bad.

I love the bad characters who actually aren't all that bad at all. The morally grey characters, basically. I just find them really interesting. In Love
    This. So bad.

Also, I love when the characters have a well-written mental disorder.

I love the characters that you can count on to make an awkward situation... even more awkward.

The funny, slightly dull one (that has their moments,) that is an overall goofball.

I just really love a strong female lead. Period. And the mysterious and quiet guy. I don't know why.

I've been into really bad characters lately. Like, people you would be disgusted with in real life. I usually write about people from the victim stand point, but never the bad guys standpoint so I started a new story where I do that about a human trafficker. Can't get much worse than that.

    I'm seconding this
Because as I go back and edit, I've found that a character or two who keeps secrets from even the audiance (never mind the other characters XD) makes things really interesting tehe

And I like vain ones. Mr. Green When they're realistically selfis/vain/narcisstic and you just want to slap them. I personally know how these type of people are and getting to read them done right is wonderful.

I know he's a movie character, but Jerry Dandridge. Seriously, he is my favorite vampire bad ass ever. If someone were to write a story with a character like him I would jump on them in a heart beat.

Adding onto that. When they do have a lifestyle choice that is controversial, but they're a good person. I like it when you have a character that maybe sleeps around and does drugs, but is a good person. It's just not the typical thought.
I agree with this so much. Most characters who do drugs and sleep around are depicted as the 'bitchy' character. Hence my character Roxanne in one of my stories XD

I also love reading stories/books with vulnerable guys. Not the always crying and moaning type, but the ones who dont really show much, but have those vulnerable moments. Most writers don't realize that girls can protect guys too File

I adore characters who can balance being rough and sweet at the same time. It's completely adorable. I admit I'm a sucker for the suave, dark ones as well.

But I'm more drawn to the earnest, honest ones, those who are open books but completely unreadable.

Also ones that are easily embarrassed tehe
