Types of Characters You Love

Imperfect characters.

In fanfiction, when minor characters in the canon are fleshed out, major characters in the fic. Especially when they're developed in a way you don't expect.

I love characters that surprise you, that you think you've got figured out until they go and do something completely unexpected.

Those arrogant characters that you feel like you would despise irl but are so charmingly written in fic that you can't help but love them.

Fucked up horrible characters who are so consumed and adjusted to how they are that they don't think they're broken;instead, everything else is what's broken to them.
Also, villains (the bad people in general in the verse of the story) and morally ambiguous characters or amoral characters.

Characters that for some reason or another, every time you read about them you smile.

I love sarcastic & vulgar characters. So. Much.

I also love characters who don't have very predictable actions although I must say that it's very rare to find someone who does it well.

I love guy characters who act completely normal and well-adjusted and macho, but what they really need is someone to save them.

And characters who are prejudice and judgmental. I think 'hate' is such a fascinating emotion, and I love love love characters who are either consumed with it or are on the receiving end of it.

I honestly love ice-queen characters, and I'm not talking about the cold, bitchy characters that just immediately fall into a pile of goo when they really really like someone. I'm talking about actual icy people, the sort of people that you have to chip away at the surface in order to get to really know them.

Genuine characters that have very genuine emotions, they just have no earthly idea how to express them.

Hence why I adore Logan Mitchell

I love well-written bitches. Especially when they don't really have much of a reason to be a bitch, they're just nasty people, because there are plenty of those in real life, but they still manage to be dynamic and three-dimensional characters. I couldn't take it as the main character, but having a good, genuine bitch as a secondary character, or like having her be the main character's best friend or something, is just love.

Idk. Maybe it makes me feel better about myself or something. xD

Characters who lie, who have something to hide.

Those artistic types who like to read and drink coffee and speak in long sentences. Also, intellectual characters who like to think about the world and are generally really aware of everything around them.

Male characters who fall for girls in that sweet, helpless and adorable way. Sometimes it can be cliche, but when it's well-written it's fantastic.

The quiet ones because they're always secretive and mysterious. I love that shit. I do it in a lot of my stories myself.

And I like those evil characters that hide their malevolence from the main character, but the reader can kind of get a hint of their devilishness, although the main character has no clue. Then it all comes out at the end and everything goes down from there. It keeps the story interesting. I do that a lot too...

A lot of the characters I tend to like, I write about.

Oh my god, that's like crack to me when it comes to ghetto stories.

Outgoing characters. So many MFCs tend to fall into the loner/shy/wallflower category, and that makes me have trouble relating to them because I've always been on the more talkative side, and it bothers me that there aren't more characters like that.

Characters that are smart about everything else, but have this one thing that they're clueless about.

Characters that can admit they are wrong.
