Honestly, if you like the feeling/idea of condoms, there's no reason to give them up. IUDs aren't perfectly safe, so condoms are helpful in maximizing your protection.
I personally don't like condoms, so I told my boyfriend that during the times that I'm most likely fertile (around ovulation), I'd prefer he would pull out. Withdrawal isn't the most successful birth control method, but paired with an IUD it yields a much higher efficacy.
