Character Namer

  • I have an idea for an adaptation of The Steadfast Tin Soldier and am needing ideas for my soldier's name. For those who don't know, it's a fairytale about a one-legged toy soldier that falls in love with paper ballerina, but an evil troll separates them. I've made my ballerina a porcelain music box dancer named Charisse, but I have yet to name the soldier. He's kind of a plucky Disney-esque hero in the same vein as Aladdin. I want his name to mean something to do with soldiers or warriors or heroes, but I can't decide.

    Ideas?

I found this page when I typed "Names that mean soldier" into Google.

Although there's only three names on that list - but my favourite out of the three would be Gunnar.

Oh and another page with a lot more names when I searched for a name that meant "hero". Out of those ones, personally, I think I like Nero and Balfour the best.

  • Hi! I can't think of a name for my girl. [character in a Gerard Way fan fiction.]

She's an angel, has a fallen angel for a mother and a Dom for a father, and she's also autistic. Her hair color is light brown and she has hazel eyes.

I know her image might not matter, buut...yeah. Anyway, I'm so bloody excited to see what you come up with xD

  • Hey, so I'm in the process of planning out a new story and I'm having trouble coming up with a name for the main character. She's a girl, her father is Puerto Rican and mother (also Latin, haven't decided if she's also P.R), and I'd like to make her name Spanish. Their last name is Torres.

    She's 21, beautiful, out-spoken but friendly.

I'm not asking for really spanish names like Consuela or Esperenza. But something pretty, to match her personality.

  • So, I'm starting a new story about two neighbors. They've hated each other ever since they could speak.

Anyway, I already have the guy's name as Keith. He's pretty much the bad boy that doesn't care about anyone other than himself.

The girl is the total opposite. She's a ballerina, a straight A student, and a helper in the community.
I want her name to be graceful and flow-y, kind of like a ballerina.

I know, it sounds cheesy, but I really need some help!

    Thanks!

Not sure if you still need names but my sister's daughter is half Spanish and she named her Gabriella. It's not too Spanish but still gets the point across, I think.

  • @ Answering.Alexandra.
The first name I thought of was something like Katrina/Katherine/Katerina/etc. When I think of ballerinas I always think of the name Grace, too.

    Thanks so much! :3

    Luz (means light)
    Alessandra
    Bonita, Linda (both mean beautiful)
Carmen (although, this is a stereotypical Latina name)
    Deja (day-ha)
Maria (also a rather stereotypical Latina name)
    Paloma
    Raquel
    Rosario (refers to rosary)
    Inez/Ines

  • I have a character named Genesis but I'm not sure if that's right. I like the name but I don't have a back story on how she got it.

  • Okay, so I have the perfect idea in my head for a character in the original fiction I'm gonna start writing soon, but all I need is a name.
The story takes place in sort of early medieval times, between maybe 800 or 900. He's a young man (around twenty-seven years old) who lives in the outskirts of the main village, in a gypsy town. He's obviously a male gypsy with a very independent spirit, but at the same time, he's mature and wise.
Appearance-wise, he has long, dark brown hair, almost to his waist, that's straight but with a slight natural wave, hazelish eyes, and pale skin with just the tiniest hint of a suntan. I want his name to kind of "match" with the main female's name, Harlow. I kind of had the idea of him having a first, middle, and last name, with a suffix at the end, but have him referred to as a shortened name. (ie: Louis Benjamin Falgoust II, but just called Ben.) Sorry if that sounds confusing... Shifty
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)
