I don't see or hear anything special about 5SOS. They just come off as a set of 1D clones. [to me]

I don't like Taylor Swift one bit. She was okay as a country singer but now that she's more into pop I just can't. Not my cup of tea File and EDM is a no for me too. Also, Metallica is over rated imo.

I don't understand why everyone was so obsessed with "Let It Go" from frozen. Also I don't get what the big deal about Nirvana is.

I agree with this. I tried to like Nirvana's songs but it just wasn't doing it for me. As for Let It Go, I liked it, sang it a billion times, even have it on my phone...but then I got over it. It's just annoying now when I hear people still singing it.

Bands/artists I tried to like: Coldplay, Blink-182, Bastille, Vampire Weekend, Haim, Florence + the Machine, One Republic, Mumford & Sons, Iggy Azalea, Chvrches, Grouplove, Ellie Goulding, Charli XCX (especially that Boom Clap song...why is it everywhere!), and I'm sure there's probably more.

Other bands/artists such as Ariana Grande, Lorde, The Pretty Reckless, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Lana Del Rey, Muse, Pharrell, Kanye West, Tame Impala, and more are the ones that I have at least one or two favorite songs from but wouldn't say I'm a big fan of ALL their work.

Also, I really really really don't understand why everyone seems to love EDM.

I don't really like Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber, but I don't think either of them are as popular as people make out. Sure, they get a lot of playtime on the radio and there's a lot of tweens and young teens who love them for reasons unknown, but I think for the most part they're singers people normally grow out of after the initial buzz.

But even a lot of people of that kind of age don't seem to like them that much. They're kind of the singers that people might like one or two of their songs but overall, they think they're overrated. So I guess the popular opinion of them is that they're overrated, but I think it's gotten to the point where they're no longer overrated and the actual consensus of them places them about where they belong.

I think Justin Bieber has lost his appeal over recent years, especially with the drama he stirred up nine or ten months ago when he got arrested for driving under the influence, but Cyrus has remained largely the same.

That being said, I don't actually like either of them. I just thought it was an interesting point to bring up.

I don't really understand the appeal of Frozen as a whole, honestly.

I liked Let It Go but I never thought it was as good as everyone made it out to be. I can't stand the song now, I'm so over it.

The movie and soundtrack has done nothing but grate on my nerves since it came out.
I can't tolerate Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, or Iggy Azalea at all. And I can barely tolerate Ariana Grande but I can tolerate her better than the other three. I don't mind One Direction as people because I don't read about them in scandal magazines or anything (only when Harry was dating Taylor Swift), but I don't like their music at all. It rubs me the wrong way. I liked Bruno Mars' new album, but as for his first with Just the Way You Are, I loathed it entirely. I can't stand that song Wiggle by uhm...what's his face. Jason Derulo?

Lorde is okay. I mean, good on her for doing what she's doing as young as she is, but the only song I sort of like is the cover she did of Everyone Wants to Rule the World, and even that kinda irks me because the original song is a classic and a part of me is very upset because it's like, "YOU CANNOT TOUCH THAT, STOP." Going further with this, I don't really understand the popularity of a lot of Disney musicals in general. Sure, they're okay, but they're hardly brilliant on the level of something like The Rocky Horror Picture Show or Sweeney Todd.

I'm not a fan of 5 Seconds of Summer, and as people, they seem iffy to say the least.

I agree with this. Shifty I don't hate them or anything but when I saw them on the cover of my AP magazine, I was kind of just like, what…?

I’m not happy that Max Green is in Falling in Reverse…That’s pretty unpopular right now because almost every FIR fan is ecstatic that he and Ronnie are in a band together again. Don’t get me wrong; I love Max. He’s a great guy. But I think it’s just not a good fit with him being in the band…

Liking One Direction does not automatically make you a rabid fangirl. Or make you immature. Or mean that you can't enjoy other types of music. Or mean that you do not know what "good music" is. Or that you deserve to be ridiculed.

    Seriously. Grr
I think Tyler Carter's voice fits perfectly with the style of music Issues is doing. Yes, he's good with the pop and R&B sounds, but with the harder music, Tyler slides in with ease. It's kind of impossible for his voice not to fit whatever he's doing just because his voice is fantastic, so I think he and Issues fit beautifully. Maybe I'm biased because I adore Issues, but I think he's just right.
Apparently Falling in Reverse has a reputation with a lot of fans of being really bad live??? But, dude, I couldn't disagree harder if I tried. They are wonderful.

    @ I feel insane
This just made me smile so much like OMGYES

I mean, why does liking 1D elicit that sort of reaction / provoke those thoughts from others, anyhow? Because of the few bad seeds in the fandom? I like 1D. I like them a lot, I've got nothing to hide. Harrumph. Snob Even so, I would still absolutely love to stop being teased and taunted for it, y'know? That would be cool.
I like the song "Rude," the MAGIC! one? Yeah, I like it lots. Not sure if that's unpopular here, but a lot of the people I know can't stand it for reasons unknown. XD

Definitely. From what I've seen, people shun him because his voice is too "poppy" for Issues, but they already blend together a ton of genres effortlessly, and his voice is incredible.

I don't see, like, any similarities between We Are the In Crowd and Paramore, aside from the fact that they both have female singers. I don't know how unpopular this is here, but it's not a common opinion on Youtube, that's for sure. -___- Do all women in rock have to compete against each other? What's with all the girl hate?!?!

OHMYGOD. Falling In Reverse is amazing live. Hint hint ;)

Tyler Carter's voice is excellent, and it goes great with the lyrics they have.

I don't really like Ron Ficarro's back up vocals. They just didn't appeal to me.

I like Jason Lancaster's voice more than I like Derek Sanders' voice, but I like Mayday Parade's music more than I like Go Radio. And I'm not sure if this makes sense, but I'm kind of hoping that Mayday Parade branches out a little more in the future. Their music is great, but sometimes I feel like they're holding on to the sound that they've been sticking with for years. They can definitely switch it up, I think.

I'm pretty pumped for Taylor Swift's new album, honestly. Shifty I love how her music has evolved over the years. I never understood the people who always say she writes about the same things over and over, though - not all of her singles are about ex-boyfriends, and even if they were, there are tons of male artists who sing about their exes and never get flack for it. Like she recently said in an interview, it's kinda sexist, really.

I'm not sure if this is unpopular or not, but I am pumped to hear Tyler Carter's cover of "Ain't It Fun," since his voice will probably suit the song so well OMGYES

And lastly, I miss the Dixie Chicks. XD
