A very good answer! Pete used to be my fave out of the members of FOB I knew back in the day (ie. him and Patrick) but now I feel like Patrick is such a sweetheart and Pete's just... a bit strange. Yay for him that he's all happy now, but, yeah. And of course Joe and Andy are important too but I never knew a lot about them and I never followed the band, really.

But yeah, I'm tired and rambling, but I definitely feel that.

I also just thought of another band. Of Mice & Men. Bad music to my ears and made up of some despicable people.

I do know that Pete was having some serious issues with mental illness and suicidal thoughts at the time as well, so lately he has gotten much better? But idk, something about him always just seems really sketch to me still. And Patrick Stump is like a goddamn puppy. Even after Patrick got hot, most of me was still like, "Awww, can we cuddle? I wanna cuddle with you."

I kinda feel that too? But, oh well. As long as he's getting on with his life happily and nicely, idk. And yes, Patrick is lovely, I follow him on Twitter because he's just... so happy. SUch a sweetheart.

At this point is it an unpopular opinion to have strong feelings of dislike toward Justin Bieber or his music? Like, I don't really care for him or his music, but is he still popular enough where my not liking him is unpopular?

I don't know if that made any sense, but seriously, do people still like Justin Bieber? I'm genuinely curious.

I find the hate of Justin Bieber has died down quite a bit since he's no longer young and "cute" and isn't as in your face as he used to be. So I say this could be unpopular. He still just seems like kind of a tool to me.

    @ Siriano;
I actually didn't hate him for being young and 'cute'. I have very strong feelings of dislike/hate his behavior now because he does supremely immature, rude and arguably awful things. Also some things that are just showing he does not think. Him as some kid making pop music was just some kid making pop music and while I didn't like it, I kind of grouped him with Rebecca Black when she first was noticed because I thought neither of them could sing, but that neither of them were doing any harm.

I still don't get the appeal of Ed Sheeran, and part of me doesn't understand why I don't find his music good or him appealing in any way? Like, the man's from the UK. I become the most ridiculous human being when it comes to people from the UK, but with him I'm just like, "Nope."
This. I'll listen to him if there's nothing else decent available but he isn't spectactular. If anything he's a little boring. [to me]

On the topic of Justin Bieber, I completely disagree with Lena Dunham calling out "What Do You Mean?" for promoting rape culture. The line is literally "What do you mean when you nod your head yes, but you want to say no?" Like, he clearly gets that she wants to say no when she's saying yes and he's asking for clarification. Yes? Or am I interpreting that wrong?

Also, I've seen that music video. Every time they start fooling around and she pushes him away, he stops touching her. He doesn't touch her again until she touches him. He actually puts his clothes back on and sits down when she turns away from him and her body language is clearly indicating that she's not into it.

Am I just missing the blatant problems with the song? Because I personally think "Hotline Bling" is a lot more problematic than "What Do You Mean?" File

    1) "5sos will replace 1d over their hiatus!!" yeaaah i don't think that 5 seconds of summer and one direction are in the same ocean, let alone on the same boat. File 5sos quite honestly sounds like they're trying to be every band that ever inspired them all at once. and yes, i quite like 5sos, but i can't tell if this is their sound that i'm enjoying all time charlotte-182. they're also sliding on the personality scale. whereas one direction fully acknowledge and accept their young and female fans (which, of course, is their original demographic and the majority of their support), 5sos keeps trying to shed that same support in the worst of ways. it's like they don't want to be labeled as a boyband so badly that they go out of their way to not only shed that, but the support they have. because god forbid you have teenage girls backing you. they might as well be nothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

one direction is much more polite in interacting with fans in person and more polite in general, as well, from what i've seen. as much as i like 5sos, i can easily see that some of them.....cough......aren't as up on their manners as they should be. tl;dr i just don't see 5sos on their level. never understood the comparisons, either, save for the fact it's a group of cute guys making (different!!) music.

    2) on that slightly earlier note: having a fanbase that heavily includes teenage girls, surprise surprise, does not invalidate you as an artist. you can make good, mature music with a large number of teenaged, female fans.

[good golly that was long and sounded hella biased. i do like 5sos. but you also gotta know when someone's being...less than extraordinary. Facepalm]

    I LOL'd at "All Time Charlotte-182."
I like my fair share of "generic bubblegum pop." Sometimes I get emotionally drained real quick only listening to music with lyrics that hit too close to home. Sue me. I need some semblance of balance. Neutral

I don't understand the hype around Adele. She bores me to tears.

Same! Don't get me wrong, she's very talented, but her music is just... lackluster.

I'm honestly starting to dislike J. Lo. She had some bangers back in the day but lately she's been...lackluster, as well.

Hotline bling is problematic and that is why many women are saying "fuuuuck you!" and continuing to be the girl in the song. It's catchy as hell but I also remember that its problematic lmfao

I find Beyonce supremely overrated and always have. I do not, have never, and probably will never get all the hype around her. She's just like... not that good. File

Tell me about it. I'm sure she's a good person but I hate the way some of her fans completely attacked anyone who shows disinterest in her; just like with Rhianna's songs I don't get the blow up .-.

For real though! Her fanbase is honestly so annoying. Like, obviously not every fan, but so many of them will just like freak out on you if you don't just like show undying love for their "queen". Rolling Eyes

So true. I read comments in an Instagram post completely going at this girl who said she loved that telephone song; the fans somehow took it as her saying lady Gaga was better. I can't believe the reaches people take on things.

I'd like to find new artists, but I'm stuck in this rut of old songs and the radio haha

I don't know for sure how unpopular this is, but I really don't like the direction pop music has taken in the last several years. That faux deep faux dark hollow sounding stuff with the dancey EDM beats just... usually doesn't do it for me. Some good songs have come of it, but over all I dislike the trend and wish it would just end already.
