I want all of you riding lovers to tell me about yourself, the horse you ride, what style you ride, and where you ride (state/barn name/ whatever). So... I guess I should go first?

I live in a small town where Western riding rules, so I stick out like a sore thumb because I'm an english gal. I live on a hobby farm where we own 3 horses. My sister's Arab, my mom's Arab, and the APHA paint gelding that I'm trying to sell. Right now I'm looking at getting an APHA paint cremello mare named Luna (she's GORGEOUS!). Um... my dad hates that riding is my hobby because it's so expensive. I ride at Galloping Hills Equestiran Center and at my house. In Wisconsin. Yep, that's it! Clap YOUR TURN! File

I rode for three years, I believe. I learned to ride English style, and I never had to guts to learn jumping. I got a quarter-horse mixed with Andalusian - his name was Monterrey Jack. But we sold him. I haven't gotten on a horse in quite some time, but I did enjoy it immensely.
I ride in Guatemala. Not the best place for horses. You get bored easily seeing that there are limited areas to ride on.

I've ridden for about a year and a half now. Before I started, I figured I hated riding and I didn't much care for horses cause my friends never shut up about them, never stopped playing silly games that I found no interest in. They kept begging me to join until I did, and here I am.

Funny thing was, one of the people who begged me to join soon turned around and said she wished I never joined. I might have quit right then, but I liked it because it got me away from a bad home life, and I'd already bought all the stuff. And now, due to other incidences, we no longer ride at the same barns as each other, and hardly talk.

I ride English style, though I desperately want to learn how to barrel race. Sadly, there are only english barns around here. The horses I ride change depending on what my instructor thinks I need to work on.

I love jumping and trying new things. When I was starting out, I had to learn quickly to catch up and do everything everyone else was doing. It was funny because the instructor would put up a jump and no one else would want to do it but me, and she wouldn't let me because she wasn't sure I could handle it. I'm still the first one ot volunteer for anything- especially jumps!

I ride, I started when I was about four I think. I was one of those horse-obsessed children that would run around the playground jumping over "jumps" at lunch Facepalm

I have two horses at the moment - a thoroughbred gelding Redman and a...uh (for want of a better word) mutt mare Nemo.
I ride Red most of the time, he is an absolutely wonderful horse to ride when he isn't being an retard. Oh man, and jumping with him In Love
Occassionally I'll just hop on Nemo bareback and muck about Cute but usually Mum rides her.

I used to show and stuff but I stopped because I just didn't like the way everyone was always so competitive, even the little kids.
Now I'm at uni, so I don't get to see Red and Nemo very often Sad miss them heaps.

I have been riding for about ten years now, I started when I was five amost six and I am sixteen now. I ride my neighbors horse, Buffy, because she isnt able to handle her. She is a 15.2 buck skin Quarter Horse with black points. I am an english rider currently switching over from Hunters to Eventing. I ride at a farm called Forward Strides LLC. Just recently my horse broke her back right splint bone, she goes in for surgery in the next few days.

I ride wester style, have for about six years, since I was eight. I live in San Antonio, Texas, but my horses aren't at a stable. I have two paints, my six year old solid sorrel gelding named Zipper, and a colt that's a frame over named Kaecoto. They are my babies:}} I haven't rode in awhile and really need to get back into the habbit.

But when I go off to college in the fall I'm joining their horseback riding team(:

I ride western and my family has 7 horses right now, two draft horses(one male one female), one arab, one quarter horse, two appaloosa/thoroughbred crosses, and one 1/2 quarter horse-1/4 thoroughbred-1/4appaloosa. Only the quarter horse, the arab, and the 1/2-1/4-1/4 are ride-able. The draft horses are a mother son pair with the mother trained to pull and the son just having turned a year old.
I ride on my ranch, sometimes moving cattle sometimes not.

I ride English. Have been for 7 years now... I do some training for my riding instructor in exchange for cheaper lessons. I ride in a small town in Minnesota. I don't own a horse and never have :(. My parents think it's too expensive and too dangerous. The horse I've fallen head over heels in love with is a bay four year old Morgan by the name of Rion. I've done most of his training, and am hoping to show him next summer in some large Morgan shows.

I started riding almost 10 years ago. I own a 5 year old paint pony that moves like a quarter horse. His name is PT, and he is amazing. He's got markings that look like wings on his shoulders.
I ride western style. That's what I'm comfortable with, and it's what my horse excels at. I also do some gymkhana and barrel racing just for the fun of it.
I usually ride him at my house or at my coach's house.

I started riding 15 years ago on American Saddlebreds. I rode saddle-seat for about 4 years and then bought and American Quarter horse (Skips ShoGun lol). He's a cutting horse that I turned into a Versatility horse for AQHYA. He's taken me to World twice, North American I don't know how many times, and Congress four times. Seven years ago I bought a yearling 3/4 QH 1/4 Oldenberg named him Pnut and have started him in Eventing. Last year I inheirated a 3-gaited park Saddlebred mare and was sucked back into the world of the American Saddlebred.

I grew up with a horse obsession but got into competitive softball instead, leaving no time for anything else. Finally four years ago, I realized that if I didn't do something right away, it would be harder to get into it. My grandmother told me about a trainer about five minutes from my house that lived in her old house, so I got my mom to call her up and she set up a lesson. And even though I have softball six days a week, I now also ride three or four times on top of that and work for the barn a few times a week. I ride English and I ride at a lesson barn so we all get a chance to ride all of the different horses. (: But because I show, I usually ride a 16.3 dark bay, thoroughbred named Bella who's off the track or a 16.3 dapple grey named Honey who is a little spitfire. :D Oh and my favorite thing to do is jump, I would love to show in a jumper division. (:

Bella, the thoroughbred, is a bit older, I think 20 but she can be such a pain at times. Try and catch her in the field and you'll be standing dumbfounded as she canters off and kicks up her hooves behind her. Oh and if you don't know your signals, watch out. Try and canter her without correctly sitting and pressing her into it and she'll set off into an extended trot that'll swell her legs if she goes for too long. But she's a dream to sit trot to and as soon as you walk in the show ring everyone comments on how gorgeous she is. She's a lovely mare and I adore her, meanness and all. (:

Honey is adorable and I love her to bits. For some reason she's taken a liking to me and I'm the only one she'll go for. She loves to jump and especially loves one strides that she'll turn into a bounce just to make things interesting. I can't remember how old she is, but she's young and has an excited, bouncy trot that's hard to post to sometimes because she's throws you up in the air, but for some reason I love it. Her energy is such a breath of fresh air. I'm also the only one she pick up a correct lead for right away. She's awesome. (:

Our barn is Itty Bitty Barn because they have a mini named Itty Bitty and it's lovely to be at. (: They have a swimming pool and a creek so if you ride in the summer you can usually come and hang out for the day. I've met all of my best friends there and now we have sleepovers and movie dates all of the time. It's like my second home. I even work there so I spend about five days a week there year round. I can't imagine my life without the girls and the horses there. I wouldn't change it for the world.

I started riding about 12 years ago. I don't own a horse and never have, I'm planning on leasing this summer as I'm starting my second year of college in Equine Management. As of now I don't have a specific riding centre that I participate at I generally ride for people when they need me. I'm Ontario Canada and looking for a Gelding to lease! No mares and iffy for a Stud.

I work at a small trail riding place called Spring Creek Trail Rides. It's in this little town called Bellbrae in the state of Victoria in Australia.
I ride many horses, seeing as I work there, but the main horse I ride is a little Skewbald pinto mare named Poh. The other horse I ride is a bay gelding named Ringo. :3
I've been riding for 4 years, though I've never had any proper lessons, I'm a pretty good rider, hence the reason I partially run the trail rides. :3

I started riding when I was 9. But then stopped after about 5 years because I got involved in high school sports and I just didn't have anytime to do it. Still working on getting back to it but it is expensive and between work and college, barely any time.
I had gotten my own horse when I was about 12 and we had him for about 3 years. He was just a chestnut Quarter Horse. He wasn't very nice either. He was the kind that needed to be ridden every day basically and none of us had the time and I was the only one who could really ride.
I rode English and jumped for about a year. At first I was at a dressage barn, then switched to a place called Windy Pines. They were mostly Western. And then I went to a place called Hunter's Ridge where I started jumping. I have ridden in a western saddle before but I always feel like the horn is in the way...

Just saw this thread again... Hahaha, here's an update: the Paint Cremello mare I was talking about getting is now my wonderful dream girl. She's about 16.1/16.2 hh and is so absolutely willing. I didn't say it before, but I've been riding since before I could walk, it's in my blood, one could say. I love it. Any style, any time, anywhere. I've trained seven lovely horses, one of which I deeply regret not buying--but ah, well, I 've got my Luna now! Smile I don't show much, since it's expensive, but I do ride with the United States Pony Club, which helps a bunch.
