    @ James Cassells.

That's more than a little disturbing.
    Dear America,

I don't really know what to say. We're struggling pretty badly right now and I really hope you can correct this nonsense soon. If you can't correct it completely then at least make the right decisions to improve it. It feels like the country is coming apart and please, forgive me if it's been like this and I haven't paid close enough attention. This is my home and honestly the odds of me leaving are very slim. I don't want to hate or dislike my home. I also don't want to live on fraying thread because you can't help your citizens. We have many problems that need improvement. Please get on that soon.

    Dear America,

Other than by the fact that demographically you have more Christians than people of any other religion/belief system, you are NOT a Christian nation. If the founding fathers knew that since they were around you've squeezed God into your money, your pledge of allegiance, your national motto, etc., they'd be turning in their graves.

So, please stop using your assumption that your nation is "Christian" in order to legislate Christian doctrines as laws, and to make sure that only people who confess their Christianity can have successful presidential campaigns.

Sincerely, a concerned cousin from the other side of the Atlantic.

The Mibba Magazine will be doing a spotlight on this thread

So, if you have any interesting letters to America you want to get out, now is the time! The article will be published sometime in October, and letters chosen will be primarily political, in spirit of the November election. =]

So shit, I didn't know they had drones there. Damn... I get less patriotic everyday, it seems.
    Dear America,
Stop being so damn lazy and ignorant to the rest of the world. While other countries know on average two, three, or four languages, we generally only know one. Too many of us believe everything we see on TV. That is why the only TV I watch is stupid TV because it's the only thing that I know for sure without a doubt is factual.

Stop making other countries miserable. Get the fuck out of other countries, and take care of your own because we have enough fuckery going on here.
    dru's hammer.:
    Dear America,

Please re-elect in November. I'm begging you.
Oh my god, yes. If Romney wins, I swear, I'm moving to Africa.

    Dear America,

Why is we seem to think it is our business to keep other countries in line and fight their battles for them? If two countries have a problem with each other, why is our place to step in, play mediator, and then over take the whole situation without being asked to? Do you not see that we have our problem that need dealing with?

I get that sometimes some smaller countries might need some help, and I'm okay with offering assistance. But once the immediate threat has been neutralized, bring our troops back home and let said country handle it from there! If we always fight others' battles for them, how are they going to learn to do it for themselves?

And why does it seem like we are trying to force democracy on other countries? If they want democracy, fine, teach them how to establish it. But STOP THERE! It's not our place to establish that for them! And why would they even want a democracy like ours? So they can have crooked politicians that care more about their own agendas than the people they are supposed to represent run their country? How do you think we got where we are anyway?

This country was founded on honorable ideals. But somewhere along the way, those ideals were distorted and stretched to meet the desires of a few. I want to be proud to live in the America our founding fathers envisioned.

Don't get me wrong. I am proud to call myself an American, and I very much enjoy the liberties and freedoms I am given by birthright! But I truly fear for the America my children and my grandchildren are going to live in.

    Your truly,
    A Concerned Citizen

Please don't re-elect in November. I'm seriously begging you. I think the last four years have been bad enough.

The job building and the not letting our own citizens starve has been bad enough? You would rather let people starve, die from lack of medical care, and see less jobs for Americans? I don't know how that's supposed to make it better...

    @ dru's hammer.
I just don't believe Obama has done that great of a job. I, personally, think Romney would make a much better president. Just because Obama isn't president doesn't mean people are going to starve or die from lack of medical care. Shifty

He wants to repeal Obamacare which keeps Americans with pre-existing conditions from losing their insurance. He wants to cut welfare, including food stamps. He wants to get rid of Planned Parenthood, where millions of women (including me) get our birth control because we don't have insurance. (It's also were lots of women without insurance are screened for breast cancer.)

I am terrified that if Romney gets elected, I will die. No drama, just fear. I don't have to money to move to Canada and I don't have the money to eat without food stamps. I don't have the money to support a child and I don't always have the money for condoms...

I get so scared I start crying.

    Dear America,

This maybe a short letter, but um, I feel that no one has any morals anymore. I mean look at how many people are getting away with murder and rape just by claiming the whole insanity plea.

I'm not saying that none of the murderers and rapists weren't or aren't unstable, but usually when someone murders someone or rapes someone, they immediately claim legal insanity (or is it temporarily insanity?) in hopes of getting a light sentence or to avoid the death penalty.

Another issue that I would like to bring up is discrimination. i hate it when people are constantly living in fear of being judged for who they are and what they are -- whether it be by their race/nationality, sexual preference, etc. No one deserves that crap. I may not be exactly comfortable with lesbians ( I once stated this in a blog on here awhile back), but that doesn't mean I hate all homosexuals/gays. I wish that the world would stop all of this hating and shit.

Well, I guess that's all for now... I may write another letter to you soon.

    Love,
    Hina.

P.S. God Bless America and I pray for the souls that died on 9/11. It's a bit late for that, but still. God bless!

    Dear America,

Some of your citizens are so greedy and selfish that it's sad. The amount of Americans who truly believe the poor's lives have lesser value and should be left to die is shocking and horrifying. How other citizens don't see a problem with the way those people think is equally shocking and horrifying. How much money a person makes does not show how much "value" a human being has. Having more money than another person doesn't give you more "value" or make you better than them. Someone being poor doesn't mean they deserve to starve. Someone being poor doesn't mean they deserve to go without medical care. Someone being poor doesn't mean they shouldn't get higher education. Things like food, healthcare, and education aren't privileges reserved for the rich and it is heartbreaking to me that them being privileges is such a popular view in this country.

It is truly heartbreaking that money is the most important thing to Americans. We're such a selfish country. Fix that please. America has lost it's humanity and compassion, perhaps it's time this country got some humanity and compassion back. This country could really use some.

    --

    Dear America,

Protesting does not equal terrorism and protesters should not automatically qualify as terrorists.
Questioning your government and standing against their wrong-doings does not make you a traitor.
Thinking for yourself does not make you dangerous or a threat.

Also, it's not okay for your police to hurt peaceful protesters and no, the protesters weren't "asking for it" nor did they "deserve it". Why is it looked at as horrible when other countries cause harm to protesters but it's suddenly acceptable and all the protesters' fault when America hurts theirs? America should not be hurting their protesters. No country should be.

    --

    Dear America,

If Romney wins in November... The sliver of hope I have for this country will be gone. I'd say I'd move to Canada, but I don't have the money to afford it so I'm sort of trapped in America unfortunately. Romney scares me to the very core. Please don't mess up this election.

    Dear America,

I'm not even American and I'm scared shitless that Romney will win. Please vote Obama. I know a lot of people think he doesn't help much but even a president that doesn't help is better than one that will fuck everything up.

    Dear America,

There is something seriously wrong with a country where people who get busted for marijuana possession get more time in prison than rapists.

Where rapists have more rights than gay people to their children.

Where your employer can deny you birth control access but you can't make a livable wage.

Where the education system cheats you and tells you to go to school but then you end up living in debt for the rest of your life paying for a degree that probably wasn't worth it in the first place thanks to your student loans.

Where people are allowed to protest children's funerals and soldiers' funerals with hateful lies but people are tear-gassed when they protest corporate America.

Where people are screaming at women to give up the rights to her vagina to save "lives", but turn their back on children as soon as they needs food or medical care but their parents can't afford it.

There is something wrong with a country that has millions of citizens who claim they worship a god of love, but disown their children for who they love.

There is something wrong with a country that has 16 million starving children but 40-50% of its food goes to waste.

There is something wrong with a country that has elected a former cocaine abuser who dodged the draft and doesn't understand how grammar works. There is something wrong with a country that nominates a man who changes all his political views, insults half of the country he's running to lead, and behaves in a racist manner.

There is something wrong with our country.

Now we need to fix it.

    Dear America,

Don't vote for Obama just because he's black. Don't vote for Romney just because he's against gay marriage. Vote for whoever you feel is most capable of running our country.
