Things You Wish You Could Write

I wish I could write better sex scenes. I seem to either rush through it or take to long.

This. I can write foreplay all day long but when it comes to the act itself, I suddenly chicken out and make it super short.

Stoner fics. I can write pot smoking scenes, but not stoner fics.

I wish I could write something like a waking up scene or getting ready for some kind of event. When I write them, I write way too much detail, which frustrates me. Also I wish I could write some kind of awkward scene, I like awkward people.

Exposition. Just information about the character's background and so on. I can think of it and make it up, but I cannot force myself to write it down because it seems everything I think of is . . . implausible.

realistic fiction. I tried to write a simple story with a boy and a girl in love, and then it turned out to be about vampires. I can't no write about sci-fi and that kinda stuff.

A story that becomes one of those "classics" of the fandom. I just want to write a story that touches that many people.

^ I would have to agree. I want to write something amazing for HP and then go to Infinitus (the HP convention) and have people say, "OhmyGod, you're the girl who wrote ____! I love that fic!"

This. Not so much for the same reason per se, but it's like I have it in my head- I just don't know when to put in to paper. Also because I'm so obsessed with dialogue and describing how the character thinks and feels that I sort of forget to describe other things.

Stories that don't involve a romantic relationship

Sex scenes.
Third person narrative.
Fantasy.
Original Fiction... I'm hopeless at it. :(
And decent endings. I always feel like mine suck, they just kinda... end.

Chaptered stories.

A story where the two main characters have a totally platonic friendship.

And I wish I could write a good first person narrative or third person omniscient. I think re-reading Harry Potter so many times has me trapped in third person limited

Stories that would attract people. I know being an OF writer can be hard here, but I didn't expect to struggle so much for feedback x_x

I wish I could write people with mental disorders better. Like, split personality, bi-polar, etc.

I wish I could write another developing romance in the background. I can write background pairings, but I can't develop one.

Characters falling out of love.

Bits about sexuality and such. Not necessarily the act of sex (which is really sort of impossible in what I'm writing at the moment), just some of the....aspects of it, I guess.

I'm still working on it, but I can't comfortably write any kind of sex or anything that gets too close to it. It's not my favorite thing to read or write, but I definitely wish I could overcome my barriers and write it whenever I want or need.

Oneshots.

I get attached, oh my god, do I get attached.

Chaptered stories.
Sex scenes.
Dialogue.
Things that don't have anything sad/depressing in it.
Things without death in it.
Chapters or oneshots that have over 1000 words.

Endings.
Short pieces, under six hundred words or so.
Thematic stories.
