Vampires. I really want to write one but I want it to be not like cliche. But every time I start one I stop and it annoys me. Grr

I am getting better and more interested in it, but I wish I was better at writing (and being motiviated to actually finish) stories that are normal. Like nothing too weird and/or nothing supernatural happens, just some normal life stuff with relatively normal characters.
At least, I have worked on it and can say I'm getting better though.

A decent Alice in Wonderland-inspired fiction. The one I started in May failed miserably.

Children's stories. Magical ones like Disney and Narnia or Phantom Tollbooth.

I wish I could correctly execute half the prompts and/or plotbunnies I come up with. I have come up with several pretty great ideas lately, but I just don't know how to properly commit them to paper. Facepalm

I really, really wish I could write my as of yet untitled but fully thought out novel that taunts me. Everytime I start I end up getting stuck in my favourite scenes and lose all sight of connecting narrative.

Horror and tragedy. I've tried my hand at both, and they came out pretty well, if I do say so myself, it's just that I have to be in a particular state of mind to be able to write either of those genres well, and I'm just not in that brooding state often, so a story that falls into one of those categories would get updated less often than an upbeat romance fic.

Horror, tragedy, good sex scenes or any make out session in general without using cliches, I wish I could write longer updates for my stories, I wish I could bring myself to update more than once every two weeks or so. Just a lot of things.

I wish I could write better descriptions. I always rely so heavily on the dialogue between characters because I forget that what I see in my head--how the exact scene is playing out--is something that the readers can't see. But I believe I'm getting better at it because of one of my current stories where I have basically one main character and the majority of each chapter is much more heavy on the description rather than the dialogue.

Functional, sane relationships. They are always dysfunctional in one way or another in my stories. I like it that way, else I wouldn't write it. But just sometimes I wish I had the skills to write something that leaves the reader with a happy feeling.

And continuing that thought; I wish I could write something happy and beautiful that people can just love. Without throwing that unsettling, uneasy feeling in there and thus taking the edge off the sunshine.

I also wish sometimes that I could write very defined characters without the blurred edges. A character that is absolutely sure who they are and doesn't question. Doesn't have to second guess. They know, they've either figured it out or always known. I'd both like to write a character that simply is as well as a character that defines itself clearly through actions and words.
