Not when you only listen to one bar and ignore everything else. Everything is better out of context.

Lots of music, really. And I go to some tumblrs too. I only ever like piano instrumentals and I like those to be a little chaotic or very soothing. I like to think about what the person was thinking about when they played it.

Right after I read a new book, or watch a new movie. I always get this impulse to write some fanfiction about it.

Also, going to the bathroom and taking a shower.

Listening to used records. I like to think about who might have had them before me. If they drank a beer while they listened to Nighthawks at The Diner or made love while Rickie Lee Jones played in the background or if they hummed their child to sleep to "The Best of Dixieland Jazz".

When I sketch things that come to mind and that I think are interesting, it nearly always inspires me to write.
Especially if I take the time to draw an image about a dream I had. That's just... WOAH ultimate inspiration time.

I've recently noticed that my acting class inspires me to write a lot, and I find myself switching back and forth between acting and writing a lot in my head.

Driving through downtown Jacksonville during any time of day. There's just something about a skyline that shivers my timbers.
Calvin & Hobbes comic series by Bill Watterson; he's my favorite comic artist because he can give a simple comic strip so much depth through the characters and art.
A lot of the people I've grown up with have ended up as inspiration for a character.

After I read or watch something, I'm always inspired to write something in that style, or on the same subject.

As well, I get inspiration from daydreams, people-watching and listening to music, any music.
