The Walking Dead

One more month until season 5 guys!

I only recently got into The Walking Dead but I've caught up to season 3 (waiting for season 4 on Netflix) and have caught up with the graphic novel (anyone else follow that? I have a lot of anger against Negan. Even moreso than I did for the Governor).

Also, anyone have any thoughts on the possibility of Daryl's sexuality being explored?

I actually want to read the comic book. It seems really good.

As for Daryl, why?! Why not Carol or Beth? Or maybe even some new female character? I think probably Carol since he seems to like her the most and more his age.

You should! It gives a lot of insight to where the show will be headed this season (beware of issue 100 though). I like seeing the different directions that the two take from each other. I think the only thing I miss in the comics is Daryl's character.

Are you asking why Daryl in particular, or why he isn't just paired off with Carol/Beth? Like I mentioned, I didn't watch season 4 yet so I might just be unaware, but I'd like to get some more background on Daryl's character, which could include some romantic interests (female, male, or otherwise) from his past. Most of what I can infer about Daryl stems from his relationship with Merle so getting to see more of Daryl as his own person is definitely something I'd want.

I am aware that Carol and Daryl become closer but it never struck me as romantic. They seem to complement and challenge each other in the way close friends (or even rivals) would. Plus I figure it would take a while for Carol to be interested in romance again after her husband (despite how long ago that seems now). Of course, that is just my interpretation.

As for Beth, as you mentioned she's far too young for Daryl but should a younger male character come around, I wouldn't mind her getting a chance to experience feelings of love in the midst of the zombie apocalypse. :p

Well since your not caught up, I apologize for any spoilers I may have accidentally say/said. (I don't think I have though) As for Daryl, I mostly wondered why him in the first place. (once you get caught up, you will see why I said either Carol/Beth). I do agree though that Beth is still too young. I believe she is only 17 or 18 in the show. Carol and him may not be romantic, but it's obvious he cares about her in a way.

As for Daryl's past relationships, I don't believe anything has ever been mentioned. I'm assuming you will be watching Season 4 soon? If so, maybe you will catch something I didn't. All I remember is him talking about is Merle.

I think I will try to get the comics then. I know they are more graphic and everything, but they sound amazing. Sometimes I wish the show was a bit more graphic (maybe like a show on Starz or HBO) I think they could make the show more like the comic then.

I'm glad Morgan is back. He's going to bring a lot to the show since we last saw him, right? I hope so. He's the only supporting character that has survived since the start of the series.

I'm glad they did that, I feel like he's a really unique character and I can't wait to see what this season will bring for him. And hopefully we'll get to see what he's been up to.

Season premiere was fantastic. Carol for most badass character, hands down. And her and Daryl's reunion? So sweet.
I agree, I can't wait to see how they portray his story with the group! I had no idea they were gonna do that this season and I am overjoyed at the idea.
Anyone up to date on the comic? Because I have thoughts about (spoiler) whether that guy that came into the metal crate, raping women was Negan or not. A friend of mine told me a rumour about him for the end of the season so I might be jumping to conclusions but it'd be interesting to see them tie it all together like that.

Honestly I think this would just be amazing in terms of representation..I think it's really important to show queer characters that defy stereotypes and to show that it's not "emasculating" or "feminine" to be gay. But I also think it would be fitting if he were to come out as asexual as well, since there's not many canonically asexual characters and tbh that's kinda how I see him, now that I'm actually thinking of him in terms of romantic/sexual relationships (I'm not really a fervent shipper of anything on this show).

I am not emotionally ready for the mid-season finale. I will have to say that I was really disappointed in last night's episode, but as a whole I really like where this season is heading. It makes you think a lot and the characters have all changed.

Except Rick and Carl, they keep going back and forth between what's wrong and right.

I am so excited to see what happens with Carol and Beth! I am also so worried they're gonna pull what they did last season and kill someone significant this mid-season premiere. Hopefully not though (despite speculations a friend of mine told me of). When is it coming back?
EDIT: I FUCKING CALLED IT. I HATE THAT IT HAPPENED BUT I SO CALLED IT.

Not gonna lie, I wasn't been too involved with the episode last week either...and I agree, Carl and Rick are kind of the same as they've always been. Which actually doesn't surprise me too much, though. But I am so happy about the little development Daryl's been getting.

So how are you guys feeling about Noah?

Did anyone cry when Tyreese died? I did, it was too much when they showed Beth, Lizzie, Mika, and Bob in the car. Therese was also one of my favorite characters, so it made me really sad that they killed him.

Incredibly sad, now that he is gone. He was quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. (His death was so graphic, too. Very hard to watch. )

What is with this show continuing to kill off people of color? The only primary POC left is Morgan, who seems rather unloved by the audience, especially after the most recent episode.

Nah, we still got Michonne! And I think you mean Father Gabriel rather than Morgan (I am still anticipating his joining the group at Alexandria!!) but I totally know what you mean; I didn't expect him to go behind their backs like that. Like, I could tell he was having a lapse in faith, but I didn't think it also meant going against the group that helped him find this civilization in the first place.

But yeah for real, RIP Noah. I was so excited for his character to be integrated into the story. I'm also super worried about Tara as well. They've been very liberal with the deaths this season. Almost to a point where a death on the season finale is expected instead of a surprise.

I completely forgot about Michonne! And Sasha! (Can you tell I was falling asleep while writing my initial post? LOL.) Hopefully we'll see more from both of their characters soon. It will be interesting to see if Sasha ends up adjusting to life at Alexandria, and if not, what will become of her character.

And yes, I did mean Father Gabriel! It struck me how quick he was to abandon those who saved him, especially considering how much guilt he carried after abandoning those who sought shelter at the church when things first began.

The preview for episode 15 raised lots of questions, too! There are four graves shown at the beginning. Are those new graves, or from prior deaths? Maybe two of the graves are for Aiden and Noah... but who else?

I'm so sad about Noah dying, too! Man, seriously he didn't deserve to die in such a graphic way. I hate Nicholas for causing that.

Also the reasons for Tyreese and Noah being killed off is because those actors are going on to work with new shows. But yeah, we still got Michonne, Sasha, Morgan, and Father Gabriel (who is making me so angry you don't even know). He wouldn't be alive if the group didn't do the things they did. He's like a big hypocrite, man.

I'm questioning the graves, too. We already know that Aiden and Noah are dead. Though we still don't know Tara's fate, that leaves us wondering who the last grave could be for. Hopefully it's just old graves since the previews like to trick us sometimes.

Oh man this most recent episode was ducking amazing. Who else has seen it?!
