How is it we don't have a crossovers thread on here? Don

A crossover is when two worlds meet in a fanfic. (I don't think you can have crossovers in OF, but you can correct me if I'm wrong.)

They can be within the same "realm" or different. Like you can crossover two television shows or you can crossover a television show with a band, a band with a movie, a movie with a television show.

Talk about anything crossover related here. What are some of the strangest crossovers you've seen? Best ones you've read? Favorite types? Do you read/write a certain kind? Do you not like a certain kind? Any memories?

No bashing. It's cool to say "I saw this Harry Potter/Top Chef crossover that was really weird" but if you say you read this shitty A7X/Titanic crossover, that's not cool.
I actually got into Panic! at the Disco because of a My Chem/Panic crossover with a Gerard Way/Ryan Ross pairing. it was amazingly written and now I've been writing Panic for three years.

A lot of my stories could technically be considered crossovers, but so many of the FBR bands are friends that I don't even really label them as such. Pete shows up in a lot of my stories, but that's just normal. Most people in the bandom expect that so I don't label it as such.

I've written a few All Time Low/Panic crossovers, two of which were AU. One was a Ryan/Alex PWP.

    I've also done:
    - My Chem/Panic
    - My Chem/Green Day
    - My Chem/The Used (does this count as a crossover?)
    - Negative/HIM/Viva la Bam
    - Harry Potter/Panic (unposted)

I actually love reading My Chem/Panic crossovers. I think they're amazing and can be pulled off so well.

I've seen some weird Disney/bandom crossovers. Just a little strange. A Project Runway/bandom crossover and an American Idol/Panic crossover.

I plan to write an Adam/Ryan so that would count as a crossover and I'm debating a Bill Kaulitz/Ryan, which would also be a crossover.

I once read a Supernatural/Twilight crossover, and I could easily see those worlds combining perfectly in so many ways, but the one I read was...not so great. It involved Dean getting Bella pregnant or something, so it was just Facepalm

The only crossover I've ever written was a Big Time Rush/Resident Evil crossover AU in which the characters from BTR were older and each involved in the Umbrella Corporation in different ways. Though I've only written one chapter for it so far, I enjoy playing around with ideas for its plot in my head a lot tehe

Oh, I found Harry Potter/Law & Order: Special Victims Unit years ago. The Harry Potter characters helped solve crimes. It was really well written but it was just too weird to get into. I read it the whole way through, but yeah. She had a whole series of them.

I read a fantastic MCR/Doctor Who one-shot a while back where Mikey and Gerard were Time Lords. It was awesome. Weird And then there was a Panic/Doctor Who one where Ryan was a Time Lord and Spencer was related to Sarah Jane and the four of them ended up going around fighting aliens and stuff. XD

I kind of have a weakness for crossovers, especially Doctor Who ones because it's so versatile and it makes for great alternate universes. But I find crossovers in general are pretty wonderful, especially when they're written so well that it doesn't even feel like two separate universes, because they're just perfectly melded together into one. I keep remember crossovers I've read.

I've actually read three House/Panic crossovers. And one of them was so friggin' amazing 'cause it was M-Preg and unf. Happy face

I've written Simple Plan/Good Charlotte and Simple Plan/A7X crossovers personally. Haven't read too many crossovers, though.

Ooooh, I forgot the two I attempted and failed at.

Chronicles of Narnia/Panic at the Disco. I attempted Ryan/Caspian and it was God awful.

Iron Man/Panic. I attempted Ryan/Tony Stark and it was actually really fucking hot. tehe It was just too complicated to finish.

    I also considered Glee/Panic.

    And I've read Alkaline Trio/Panic. (Matt/Ryan.)

I've never really written any crossovers to be honest Shifty but I read the most amazing one that was a Motley Crue/Titanic fic. It was amazing.

Happy face I fucking love crossovers. There's quite possibly nothing (or not much) I love more than a well executed crossover. I'm currently working on (sort of, it takes spells of activity and inactivity) a Doctor Who/X-Files crossover.

I like crossovers where the worlds are sort of similar and just seem to mesh easily. like Merlin/The Tudors or Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings.

I like band crossovers where there's some sort of canonical basis. Like My Chem/Panic works because of Pete. Though I read one where it was My Chem sort of taking the place of FOB and getting Panic signed and that was amazing. Happy face

Even the Alkaline Trio/Panic thing I read worked 'cause Ryan knew Pete who knew Mikey and AT was on Warped with MCR, I think?

I also like it when there's a great movie universe that you can somehow blend bandom into.

Reality TV/bandom is not my favorite. It's just too hard to keep your characters straight.

    I've read a few. HIM/Jackass, MCR/FBR bands, MCR/The Used.

I've written Negative/HIM, Negative/Private Line, Negative/Deathstars, HIM/Jackass, MCR/The Used, and Crashdiet/Deathstars. I've also got more in the works with Crashdiet/Deathstars, and a few with Reckless Love/Crashdiet, Reckless Love/Deathstars, Reckless Love/Sunset Striplets and possibly Reckless Love/Negative. I once tried writing Deathstars/True Blood, but that just failed so massively I've vowed to never do it again.

The ones I write, the less common ones especially, all kind of work because all the bands are somehow connected, in an almost six degrees of separation way [for example, Reckless Love to Deathstars: Olli from Reckless Love was in Crashdiet, the bassist of which is Peter London, who has a side project called Alter Egon, which has Bjorn/Greven in it, and Bjorn is Cat Casino from Deathstars' close friend].

I think if there's some way they're connected, in the sense of bandom crossovers, it can work relatively easily. It's much harder, and definitely odder, when there's no connection at all between Band A and Band B. For me, at least, it'd have to be absolutely amazingly written for me to consider reading something where there isn't a connection, and even so, I might not. It's slightly different if it's a oneshot that's meant to have a crack pairing, however.

I've also read a Big Time Rush/Fight Club crossover, also sort of Facepalm - worthy. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I don't think Fight Club would really cross over well with anything because if you've seen or read Fight Club, you already know what the deal is, and I think it would take some sort of equally epic and mindblowing twist to compensate for that.

I mean, I could imagine ways that it could be done, but just rewriting Fight Club with characters from BTR isn't going to cut it.

I once read a RENT/Wicked crossover and it was awesome. Basically because it played on the fact that Elphaba and Maureen are both Idina Menzel and...it was hilarious. I loved it.

I once tried to do a Panic/The Office crossover and...it just didn't work. I tried to do something with Brendon/Jim because, I mean, in my head, it sounded really nice, but when I actually tried to write it? Didn't work. Like, at all. It was completely awful in every way.

I also once tried to do a Panic/RENT-cast crossover and it was fun until I got stuck and didn't know where to go with it. It came from this one interview where Adam Pascal mentioned that he loved Panic, so in my head I was like "Brendon/Adam, YES." And I ran with that. But I didn't know where to run with it, really. But it was a lot of fun while it lasted.

That does totally sound like it would work, but I hear you on execution. Sometimes it's just difficult to translate it down. Like when I tried my Ryan/Caspian I got three pages in and I was like "wtf is this, no no no". It came out as crack and I was going for serious.

I don't really think of it as crossover with bandom if the guys really know each other, but I suppose it does still count. Think Even if it didn't, several of my recent projects would still count because My Chemical Romance interacts with Motion City Soundtrack, and I am pretty sure in real life they don't know each other at all.

Gods I want to read some of these xD

I've been reading a Narnia/HP one of my friends that's pretty good.

And I've written HP/Twilight (for teh lulz), HP/LotR (it works SO well Shifty) and my NaNo is a giant crossover of so many things I can't begin to name them all. But it's basically HP/Twilight/WhatthehelleverIfeellikewriting.

I've seen a Harry/REPO! The Genetic Opera crossover but didn't want to read it because it looked.... really silly XD

I once read an X-Files/Quantum Leap crossover that was quite good. It's very existence made my life a bit more complete. Sam leapt into Scully, btw. tehe

I'm busy writing a Doctor Who/HP crossover set during the 7th book. tehe

It's an Eleventh Doctor fic and I was incorporating time fissures and dimensional cracks. Because The Doctor would have Harry Potter books but Hermione would have seen Doctor Who on TV.

And The Doctor has to go undercover in Hogwarts because his TARDIS can't fly in this world and he becomes the Professor of Astronomy (because the proper Professor has won the lottery), Amy disguises as a Weasley throwback as a nurse in the hospital wing, Rory becomes groudskeeper because Hagrid is somewhat awol and they need a constant one. And they find River Song as Professor Trewaleny (Shh, spoilers) and Jack pops up as a troll against the Death Eaters and they have to hide him and shizz lmfao

    Coffee insanity, I has it.
