    Story Pimping Thread

This thread is for pimping your own stories. If you'd like to recommend the stories of other writers, use the Story Reccing Thread.

The format for pimping a story is pretty simple:
    ....
    • Title:
      Story Type:
      Rating:
      Genre:
      Status:
      Summary:
      Excerpt:
Don't forget to link to the story you're pimping. :)
    Bastard Son.:
A few rules to keep it organized:
    • Do not use humongous font sizes for your titles; 200 is more than enough.
    • Do not post the banners of your stories (or any other images).
    • Do not quote the story every time it has been update.
    • Please use proper spelling, grammar and capitalization.
    Happy pimping!

    Summary:
The letter, printed in cold and impersonal black ink, was dotted with his tears, gently sliding down his face before dropping onto the paper. No matter how many tears fell however, he could see that one line still staring up at him.

    HIV Status: Positive.

    Excerpt:
He was so fragile. He had always been a glass house, ready to shatter with just one thrown stone. As he sat on the toilet, tears still dripping, Frank could see the cracks growing and growing until Mikey was just a pile of broken glass.

Frank was the strong one. Even though he was at least five inches shorter than Mikey, he was the protector, the shield that bounced back those stones. He was the reservoir that caught all of Mikey's tears, the cure for all wounds, whether they were physical or not. He was Mikey's savior.

But not this time. This time, he was the rock.

    Summary:

    This is dedicated to Dramon.

I wake up and I face all the shit,
It’s an ugly cold world nigga, don’t forget,
Shit ain’t pretty in the dirty ass streets,
Clock every strange nigga that you meet.

I wake up and I find myself in paradise!
Things just got better, nigga, this is nice,
I thank god for the life I’ve been given,
I’ll remember to thank thee, when I get to heaven.

Then I wake up again and face more grime,
Things get fucked up, death is on my mind,
If I die right now would anyone give a damn?
Will I die ‘for I wake, before I become a man?

Why is my life mixed in all this chaos?
Is this what god has for the both of us?
Switching and changing, something ain’t right,
I give up nigga… just take my life…

Excerpt: Everything I need I have in my book bag. Enough to last a few days. It is two in the morning; I’m over staying. She’ll be here in a few minutes, probably drunk and high or just drunk; high only, if I’m lucky. As much as I want to sleep I know I can’t. I’d be someplace else. Sometimes I wish I could trade lives with the other but as of now, I have to leave.

“Ja’trell!” Thinking about how my life came down to this just puts me in a fucked up state. It’s funny how one death can lead to another death, in spirit, and soon lead to another, which was me, in flesh.

“Ja’trell!” My mind is thinking of a thousand and one plans but all of them seem to lead in the same direction, dead or in jail. No, no scholarship, no money. The grades did nothing. No physical, I’m to fault mostly for that.

Friends waving their hands with smiles on their faces because they know they’re going somewhere, while I don’t have shit to smile about because my life is soon to end on the streets.

“Ja’trell, I know you heard me boy,” my half of a mother slurred. “You know what time it is?”

    “Two oh four.”

“No, it’s time for you to get the fuck out. You know we had a deal. You’re eighteen now.” She smiled a near toothless smile. “Now leave.” I stared back at the walking corpse of my mother, staring back at me, and the look in her eyes could make a grown man cry. How could a woman who was once so beautiful turn on her life and torture her family in such growth stunting ways? Its logic I’d probably never comprehend. I look at my mother and don’t see her, I see another crack fiend on the street.

    Summary:
She was given a second chance, a second chance to dismiss that fatalistic idea of hers that there was no life without a memorable death, a second chance to help someone aside from herself.

She chose me. She chose to save me, and by doing so, she chose to save herself. I was her, she was me. By trying to save me, she ended up saving who she wanted to be and condemned me to a horrible fall.

    This is ground zero.

    Excerpt:
Countless cars were parked at the side of the highway. The traffic had slowed down, people got out of the safety of the metallic monster and contemplated at the seemingly crazy girl who was looking for that one person that would be dumb enough to accelerate and try to make its way through the traffic.

And she found him, a twenty-something white male who was far too stressed to notice the happenings on the portion of the highway in which he was speeding, and she didn't miss the chance.

Everything was tunnel vision from there. There weren't any other cars around her, only that fancy and expensive Lincoln, and she jumped in front of it, taking a gasp away from all of the bystanders that had decided to watch this new sadistic game.

    This one man.

He is The Creed’s most trusted.

    Excerpt:
“So, what was it you needed, Shads?” His hand paused over the guitar’s body at Matthew’s answer. “What? Are you mad?” He groaned, smearing his free hand over his face. “No. Sorry. I’m not questioning you. You just shocked me. No...it’s fine. You know the item number?”

Matt moved away from the bench, grabbing a note pad off his desk, flipping the page he took a pen from his shirt pocket, holding it poised above the page.

“19810210...R? Right.” Matt scribbled the number down. “I’ll, um...find it for you and let you know. Will you come pick it up? Okay, well...I guess I’ll see you? Okay then.”

He scratched a small note next to the number. “Oh, by the way, Jason said Eski told you not to go back to the barracks for the rest of the week? Heh, you should go have a holiday somewhere.” He smiled slightly at Matthew’s response to that. “Yeah, make it a second honeymoon... Right, well catcha, then. Yup. Bye.”

Hanging up, Matt stood staring down at the note in his hand. He had no idea what the T-One was thinking with his request. It seemed so out of character and at any rate it wasn’t protocol. Usually only the Mayor or the General ever requested the removal of an item from the Locker and if that ever did occur it was extremely rare. Such as this Schechter that Elliott had asked delivery of.

But for Matthew to demand the release of an instrument...that surprised Matt. Still, it wasn’t his place to ask questions. He would do his job. He just hoped to Hell that Matthew knew what he was doing.

    Genre: Drama and (light) romance
    Status: Complete

    Summary:
Companion to Criminal Minds episode 6.12 "Corazon." After suffering from blinding headaches and hallucinations, Spencer returns home to seek out answers.

    Excerpt:
Spencer sighed and adjusted his sunglasses. His headaches weren’t as frequent, but he still had them. It’s what lead him back home and to visit his mom. He had so many questions and, until they were answered, he needed a break from work. The team more than understood they were sympathetic and encouraging; something he was grateful for.

He sighed again. As much as he needed answers, he was scared of what he’d find out. All he needed was a few more hours to think about it; some time to sit in his hotel room and figure out how to approach his mom about the subject and where to go from there. As he turned to walk from the doorway, he felt his shoulder bump into something. He pulled off his glasses and squinted at the bright Las Vegas sunlight to see what it was. Next to him was a girl struggling to keep her balance.

“Excuse me,” she smiled politely and brushed her hair out of her face. Spencer couldn’t help but notice how pretty she was, even with the harsh light affecting his sight. He tried not to blush.

“Oh no, it was my fault. I’m sorry.” He slipped his glasses back on and stuffed his hands in his pockets.

She stared at him for a few seconds. Spencer felt insecure, almost like he was a teenager again. Suddenly, her face lit up and she grinned. “You’re Doctor Reid aren’t you?”

Iris has an eating disorder; this is personified
    by a character named Ana. Drugs, drinking, and no regrets;
that's the motto Iris sticks to these days.
    (Written in poetic free verse.)

    Excerpt: [from chapter one]
It was pointless to try and stop her.

    Once you’re friends with her,
    She will never go away.

No matter how many times you swear you’ve changed
    And you tell everyone that you’ve been healed;
She sees through these cellophane covered lies.

    Once you’re friends with her,
    She won’t let you go.

I don’t know her true name, nor will I ever.
    I call her Ana.
She’s the only friend I have these days.

What happened to me, you dare ask?
    Believe it or not,
    I never expected to meet Ana;
    I didn’t notice I had a “problem”
    Until I lost everything.

    The change was inevitable.
    That’s what I tell myself as I
get hurt thinner everyone every I day love.

    Summary:
‘I’d always been told that London was magic, that London was where dreams came true - no matter how big or small they were. And maybe, just maybe London could sprinkle some of its magic on that single hope of my own.’

Seth Burton and Evie Martins are said to be London's glamorous alternative to Romeo and Juliet. The radio, billboards, the news and the newspapers are always displaying the latest song, or snippet of gossip on the couple.

Everyone wants to know the past secrets of Seth and Evie, and 'fresh on the scene' journalist Madison Taylor knows a few 'dark' secrets about the couple. But will she use that as an advantage to boost her career?

    Excerpt:

    Rain.

Each single drop rang out as it hit the tiny window pane, sending a shiver down the track of my spine. Each single drop fell in time with the faint background noise of the clock, reminding me that my time was slowly being pulled out from underneath my feet. The final deadline looming over my head just as if it was my own personal alternative to the darkening weather over London town. I sighed and threw the pen down on the blank wad of paper with a little more force than intended.

The latest update in ‘Late Night London’ was going to have to wait.

I needed fresh air, something which I certainly wasn’t getting stuck between the same looming four walls. The clock caught my eye, the neon green flashing ‘9:21’ into the room. I’d been up since 4:30am, and the fatigue was finally catching up. After taking one final look at the blank page before me, I gulped down the nerves and guilt filling my gut and turned on my heels towards the door. I grabbed the first jacket that fell in my eye line, not bothering to check it for qualities that would protect me from the downpour. I struggled my arms through it as my footsteps echoed around me as I half walked-half jumped down the dingy graffiti covered stairwell.

    Summary:
Gerard is a talented magician, responsible for much of the success of the famous Envision Destiny cruise ship. He's also one of those people. You know, one of those people who just seem to take up all the space they come across with their arrogance and confidence. You wouldn't wanna touch their personality with a 10-foot pole, but still people admire them.

That is beyond Frank. Working behind the cruise ship bars and seeing Gerard pretty much every day, he can't understand what's so great about him. Besides, everybody else doesn't have to deal with his snide remarks and rude comments. Because if there's one thing Gerard seems to love, it's the act of constantly pestering Frank.

    Excerpt:
Minutes before, when they’d been standing outside just waiting for him to invite them in, he’d thrown Lisa a panicky glance that was practically screaming “Is this kid mine?” When she had sort of shrugged him a vague “Maybe?” it was as though his brain went completely haywire. In the end he’d somehow managed to finally pull himself together and invited them in.

His lips and voice had been struggling through the standard set of sentences where he apologized for the mess, then the fact that he only had leftover pizza to offer them, and then the mess again. He automatically grabbed old newspapers and magazines off the table and pointlessly tucked them away somewhere else. He watched his own hands arrange the pillows on the couch, but he felt so disconnected. His head found itself in a different world ruled by frantic conditions; his thoughts were impossible to grasp and lock down.

"Robin? What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

"Oh come on, don't lie to me! Everyone can see what's going on Haze. There's chemistry!" She insisted.

"Between who?" I joked, finishing the last of my fries and soda.

"You and Robin, duh!" Emily replied, her tone making it sound like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"I don't like Robin, He's an ass!" I scowled, throwing my last fry at her head.

"Whatever," Emily joked. Standing up, she grabbed our trays and dumped our garbage away, and the bell rang, signaling that classes were to resume.

    Summary:
Sherlock tries to explain to Mycroft the nature of his relationship with John; not the one-sided victimization that everyone perpetuates.

    Excerpt:
So entranced by his work was Sherlock that he didn't even notice the intrusion in his classroom until the heat of curious eyes drew him to the doorway. "May I help you?" He asked, eyebrows raised, as if he actually belonged there.

The student was stirred by this query. Stepping fully into the room, he set his books and backpack down at a table slowly, confusion etched into his adult features, the ones that hadn't quite grown into Sherlock's own face yet. "…who are you?"

"Pfft. Insignificant." pH, 8.5. Basic. "A better question would have been 'how did you get in here?' Yet I should think that a uni sophomore knows that the far left wing entrance is always left unattended. Therefore, the next logical question is 'what are you doing?' which is obviously comparing samples of London pond water. Then, finally, we come to 'who are you' which is a boring question and utterly meaningless yet I suppose I'll tell you, since it's not like you're going to turn me in or anything. I'm Sherlock."

Generally, by the midway point at most, anyone else would have forced him to stop talking, yet the golden haired student had listened in stunned silence the entire time. And to think, he had actually deluded himself into believing that real geniuses didn't need any sort of praise. "Then you already know what question I'm going to ask next."

Sherlock faltered, putting his pencil down as he mulled that over. "My last name?" He cursed his uncertainty and felt his stomach tighten at the smile his companion gave him.

"Your age. I'm John, by the way." Ten steps, quick and confident strides. John smelled like antibacterial soap and cheap cologne. "That equipment is very expensive, you know."

"And I'm treating it better than some of your colleagues." Bringing his eyes up from the microscope, a shiver ran down Sherlock's spine when their eyes met directly for the first time, blue and brown. "Thirteen and a half."

    Excerpt:
He opened the door reluctantly and stood in shock when he saw the person on the other side. Abigail Nickelsen stood soaked and shaking in front of him. The perfect dream was pulled apart in his doorway.

Her black mascara was smudged around her eyes, her shirt was torn, her hair rested tangled around her soft face. Her mouth was fixed in a worried expression, and she nervously crossed her hands over her chest.

"What happened?" Was all Kennedy could sputter.

"Can I come in?" She choked back tears and he quickly obliged, moving out of her way and closing the door once she was inside.

Title: Ryan Ross and the Great Bagel Dilemma.
    Rating: NC-17.
    Word Count: ~1000.
    Pairing: Background Ryden.
    Author's Note: It's all Tumblr's fault.
    Link.

    Summary:
Brendon won't sleep with Ryan so Ryan turns to less conventional methods.

    Excerpt:
Ryan was lonely and horny and the bagel looked oddly inviting, sitting there on the counter, almost winking at him with it's singular eye. Or not so much an eye, perhaps, as a hole. A hole …

Ryan shook his head. No. That's sick. He tried to shake the idea from his head, going to the cupboard instead and pulling out a box of cereal. But when he returned to the counter with the bowl of cereal and the gallon of milk, the bagel was still there, still winking at him.

"This is all Brendon's fault." Ryan muttered, glaring at the food item as if it could here. "Stupid fuck and his sexual T break. Like sex is anything like pot. And like it's doing any good with all the jerking off he's doing."

None of this, of course, made any sense when coupled with the fact that Ryan wasn't a top and that a bagel didn't have anything that could be construed as phallic. But Ryan wasn't thinking logically. He was thinking with his dick.

    Excerpt:

He could not watch any further of it. It hurt him, for many reasons. He was aware of that. It hurt to look at her, to watch her, to be reminded of what had been there between the two of them. It hurt to listen to the song; to hear the words – her words of apology and regret that pierced right through him like a dagger through his heart. It hurt, there was no doubting it.

But he could not bring himself to look away from her, not even a little bit.

It had been a long time since he had seen her. It was the hardest thing in the world to avoid seeing her, because she was so famous. Her face was everywhere; in magazines, billboards, commercials. She was inescapable, even for the average working man who had no interest in young, blonde country-pop stars.

Or at least, that’s what Taylor thought.

Summary: The world turns and, as it does, it leaves people behind. Some catch up, some don't. Some out-turn the earth, some walk just behind.
Aleksey is driving, pulling the universe behind him, full speed while June-- his Juney-- sits shotgun, documenting through touristic snapshots and scrawled thoughts.

And when all the difference in the world can be made by a postcard reading "this is beautiful," then you know you're living.

Excerpt: I take a seat beside him, legs crossed, and we sit in silence, just thinking. We finally did it; we left. But, where do we go now? There is so much world and we are so small.

Aleksey is off the car and he looks at me, "we'd better be going. Today is so short, let's not waste it." We are about to leave, but before he can start the car, I remember the postcard.

"Wait just one second." I root through the glove compartment, eventually coming up with a pen. Aleksey looks at me strangely as I hold out the pen and postcard.

    "Write me something," I prompt.

"But you're right here; can't I just talk to you?"

"Please? I want to remember this."

He nods, taking the pen and postcard. Taking a moment to think, he inscribes a short message and hands it back.

    June,
Today in York, we sat on the car and
    enjoyed our freedom.
    Aleksey

I smile widely at him, paste the stamp into the corner and scrawl the date and my address onto the card.

Summary: Years ago, Gerard Way lost the love of his life in an act of violence. He’s given everything he has to try and move on, but it’s still not enough, and he never quit blaming himself for what happened that day. Now, on this dark evening in the woods, he’s tired of trying to go on. Gerard has hit rock bottom, and nothing short of a miracle will save him.

Excerpt: No, I whisper to myself, alone in the darkened woods, so fucking alone, the memories invading me like a derailing train. The crazy wind stops, leaving me here with my demons, and I have never felt weaker. Even when they took Frank away, I was never as low as now, because back then, I’d hoped I could eventually get through this. Now, I knew that was impossible, and that there was no use trying to deny it anymore.

His hand had been warm, so fucking warm, as we walked through downtown, and we were just happy to have each other. Underneath that neon sign, I looked over at him and saw, once again, how beautiful this man was. He was everything I’d wanted, and even though we’d had our tough times together, he’d always been the one to keep me grounded, keep me sane. He was beautiful, Frank Iero, the man I’d loved for years, and all I wanted to do was fucking kiss him.

Hey, stop, I’d said, and he had, whirling around in the city lights to face me. The spark was in his eyes too, the one we’d shared so much over the years, and he’d never been so beautiful.

I leaned over and pressed my lips to his, our kiss slow and delicate.

It seemed like my life had never felt more complete.

    Summary:
Laertes struggles with his emotions when forced with the choice between love and war. When he meets genteel servant girl Ilessa, his world is turned upside down, but whether for the good or for the worse is yet to be decided. She's different than the other girls and when Laertes searches for answers, he's faced with some big life questions.

    Excerpt:
Ilessa waited in the kitchen, giving orders to the slave girls as the meal progressed. She had seen Laertes’ entrance, but hadn’t let herself show her the struggle of emotion that lay beneath the surface. Her blood had run hot the night before when she sat alone with him in his room, and was doing so again as he sat shirtless at the meal table.

When Lessia tripped and dropped a platter of fine vineyard grapes, the cook berated her clumsiness, ordering her to clean up the mess. Pointing at a platter of clean grapes, she told Ilessa to take it out instead. Ilessa did as she was told, delivering the platter to the table.

As she approached, she realized the only place to put the large platter was near Laertes; she schooled her features and went to place the platter at his right elbow. He glanced at her when she approached. She lowered her gaze from his penetrating stare. His hand reached out to grab a grape, touching hers lightly. He felt the heat of her burning skin and almost gasped. She knew that the moment of contact between them had given away her secret. A smile swept across his face, but his eyes were full of questions. She looked up into his eyes for another moment before retreating back into the kitchen.

That night, she was called to his bedroom.

    Summary:
Brendon and Audrey broke up and moved on. They meet at a party and decide to relive history just for the night. Just an escape from the confusions of the adult world and running away to the past when everything seemed so much simpler.

    Excerpt:
They had only gone a few feet when she spoke again, this time in the form of a question. "So, why did we break up?" she asked.

Brendon hesitated. He had really been looking forward to getting laid tonight. And beyond that, he didn't want to hurt Audrey. It had been a long time ago. They had both been young and stupid. She couldn't be held accountable anymore.

"And don't lie to me." Audrey said sharply, interrupting his thoughts. Her voice softened as she continued. "I'm pretty sure it was my fault anyway or I'd remember."

The boy took a deep breath before he spoke. "You started acting like you were single. You didn't want to answer my calls, you stayed out really late, didn't text back." He gave her half a smile. "We were young. And we were . . . too young."
